The MaxPreps National Top 25 has been released and it features four Texas HS Football teams inside the Top 10 of the rankings. The Allen Eagles, DeSoto Eagles, Katy Tigers and Coppell Cowboys are the four Texas teams that are listed.
The Allen Eagles are ranked second nationally by MaxPreps and comes off a 52-0 in Week 3 over the Richardson Eagles. The Eagles will travel to Hebron on Friday night in search of their fourth win this season. Miami Washington (Fla.) is the team that is currently listed as the nation's top ranked team.
After a statement game against the Euless Trinity Trojans, in which they won by a 61-35 score, the DeSoto Eagles jump from 12 to six in the MaxPreps National Top 25. The Eagles open up 7-5A play against another Dallas-Fort Worth power, Cedar Hill. Cedar Hill won their final tune up against Beaumont Ozen by a 48-0 score on Saturday.
Moving up a spot from nine to eight are the Katy Tigers. Katy defeated one of the better Houston area powers in The Woodlands by a 37-14 score and continues its season with a 19-5A opener against Katy Mayde Creek on Friday.
And moving into the MaxPreps National Top 10 is the Coppell Cowboys jumping from eleven to ten. The Cowboys defeated the Rockwall Yellow Jackets by a 68-20 score and limited rusher Chris Warren to just 104 yards on 17 carries and two touchdowns. Coppell RB Charles West countered in the game with 306 yards and four trips to football's promised land. The Cowboys travel to Garland in a final to face the Garland Owls on Thursday night for a game that will air nationally on Fox Sports 1.
The Allen Eagles and Coppell Cowboys will battle it out in Week 5 on September 27 in a game at Allen that could impact the bragging rights in the state and national polls.
