NRG Stadium – In a game that began more than two hours after the scheduled start, the Waskom Wildcats won the Class 3A Division II championship with a 33-21 victory over the Franklin Lions.   This was the Wildcats 2nd overall and 2nd consecutive championship having beaten Newton last year. This was Franklin’s first ever championship game appearance.

The Lions from Franklin started the game off with a 56 yard drive ending in a Clayton Rosprimrun for a touchdown to take a 7-0 lead.   Franklin was noticeably frenetic in their hurry-up offense. Both offenses were able to move the ball but Waskom punted while Franklin turned the ball over twice in Waskom territory.  The quarter ended with Waskom driving.
