Turnovers Don’t Phase Them

Dickinson had 3 turnovers and fumbled twice in the first half against Friendswood and were still up 21-3 at halftime. Last week it was the same situation against Texas City with 3 turnovers and they still won 21-3. I will say that the weather was pretty bad last night but that is still an alarming amount of turnovers with very little consequences. Pretty impressive on the defensive side to stop them from taking advantage of those turnovers.

Getting Yards Isn’t a Problem

They have had over 300 total yards in every game they have played so far this season. The game last night was the toughest test because Friendswood didn’t allow them to get a first down in the second half until late in the 4th Quarter. After saying that, they still managed to finish the game with 329 yards, an effort that was led by Jordan Grigg and Myles Lewis.

The Defense

When the offense isn’t scoring the defense can hold down the fort. They held Friendswood quarterback and SMU commit, Tyler Page to 187 total yards. That may not sound like a big feat but when you look at Page’s stats you change your mind. The first week against Texas City he had 7 touchdowns and 300 total yards and last week against Kingwood he threw for 315 yards and 5 touchdowns and ran for 86 yards and another score by halftime.
