My first article on texashsfootball.com was about the Baylor to Cleveland connection because they have four current players on their roster. One of those players was recently in NFL banishment, but not anymore. The NFL reinstated former Baylor receiver Josh Gordon who was suspended in February 2015 for violating the NFL Policy and Program of Substance Abuse.

Gordon will be suspended for the first four games of the 2016 season, but will be able to return Week 5 at home against the New England Patriots, the same game Tom Brady returns from his suspension.

Gordon will once again be able to catch passes from his former Bear teammate Robert Griffin III. In their 2010 season in Waco together, Gordon caught 42 passes for 714 yards and seven touchdowns. Gordon didn’t play in the 2011 season after he was suspended indefinitely for failing drug tests.

“I’m blessed and grateful to be granted this opportunity.” Gordon tweeted out Monday. “I want to do everything I can to be there to help further that process not only for the team but to better myself as well.”

Robert Griffin III also took to Twitter to share his thoughts on his former teammate tweet welcome back @Josh_GordonXII #DawgPound.

Gordon will not be the only Bear that Griffin will be able to launch the deep ball too, as rookie wide receiver Corey Coleman will be on the other side of the field hauling in passes. Griffin III was already gone when Coleman was making a name for himself as one of the top receivers in college, but now they will be on the same field in Cleveland.

The deep threat at FirstEnergy Stadium could be prolific with Gordon and Coleman excelling in running the deep pattern and Griffin III is a master at throwing the deep pass.

The NFL should be on watch, three former Baylor Bears could bring an offensive explosion to the league.
