I couldn't think of a bigger rant than this one when it comes to restarting the conversation on this board.

Never again will I order the Dominos Chocolate Lava Crunch Cake!

Basically you bite the thing and all the chocolate starts rolling EVERYWHERE! Warm taste but a very rich flavor.. almost too much for my blood!

When I picked it up, it did feel a little heavy but didn't expect the inside to be creamy inside like it was! So I bite it and it goes all over my hands!.. My Dad was screaming that I had it all over me.. I gave him the Heisman and yelled that I knew. Needless to say I was pissed!

EMAIL SENT TO ME:

post by the atheist on the moment of silence thread, I figured I would send you the same message I sent him, so maybe you too can answer my simple question that not a single atheist has ever been able to answer?

of all the garbage you spewed out in your post on the thread dealing with moments of silence, I can only agree with ONE thing you said. It was when you said, "...Atheism is a non-prophet organization..." You are right, there is nothing to profit from being an atheist. Now as far all of your "intelligent speech." There is no such thing as a "former Christian." You were never a Christian...you just thought you were. Just because you went to a Christian school and went to church does not make you a Christian. If I were to don a pair of scrubs, put on a white coat and a stethoscope around my neck and walk around in a hospital, would that make me a doctor? Many people on the outside can appear to be one thing, when in reality, they are not that thing. Read Matt. 7:21-23.

Now for my next question...I have told every atheist that I have ever met, and there are many...I tend to debate atheists on a regular basis and have never met a single one that has come anywhere close to being able to outwit me, including a former professor, who had a PhD in Evolutionary Biology. My first question for him and every other atheist is a simple one. Science teaches that it is IMPOSSIBLE for something to come from nothing, so.... exactly where did that first something that lead to the "Big Bang" come from. If it is IMPOSSIBLE for something to come from nothing, then where did the very first something come from? Dont come back asking where God came from? That is not the question. As you should know, we teach that God always was. In order to be firm in your faith...and yes, I believe atheism requires faith...it is faith that there is no God. As a matter of fact, it takes a greater faith to be an atheist. Just think, if you are right, what will be lost after I die? If I am right, what will be lost after you die? I know one thing, my words from this message will be continuously resonating in your head as you burn in hell for all eternity? I am not quite sure why anyone with half a brain would be willing to take such a risk, but then nothing surprises me in today's society.

Again, I simply want to know, where did that first thing come from, since scientifically, it is IMPOSSIBLE for something to come from nothing?

MY RESPONSE:

If youR first question was concerning the "would that make me a doctor?" statment you made (cause that was the only question in the paragraph, I would say "no."

As for your 2nd paragraph, you said "as for my next question." That denotes a sense of one question being asked, yet you asked many.

I'm going to answer your whole post this way. I am not a xtian, and therefore could give two shits about anything you believe or think you believe. Sounds to me like you're just a pissed off **** that likes to spout off when others don't believe as you do. And to me, that just screams "close-minded" and "ignorance of others."

As for your biology/science question you asked in reference to the big-bang theory, with its relation to xtianity, I don't know the answer to that...and again, much less care. I am not an atheist, nor did my response to that great post denote in any way that I was an atheist. Yet at the same time, I don't believe in your god either. So your lack of questions, or overabundance of them, really didn't mean anything to me.

All I really got from your email to me was a pitiful soul questioning their own religion and trying to justify its existence by bringing down the existence of others' religion/s.

You apparently have issues. Enjoy them, and try not to share so much of those issues with others.

It is saddening even frightening to see what is happening in our country. The state of California is honoring gays as normal human beings. That got me thinking. I don't have kids yet, but when I do, how do I keep them from becoming gay? Should I force them to play sports if they are boys? Should I buy him Playboys? Since I am Christian, scratch that last statement. What causes this? If all the gay men would have played sports growing up, would they still be gay? OK, that excludes figure skating. I'm not taking any chances, my son is getting a baseball glove and maybe dumbells on his first birthday, and maybe a football on his second. As far as girls go, I'm not sure what do with them, I guess that's Mom's department. If it were up to me, I would make her only date athletes. Male athletes that is. I want my son running into an endzone and not coming out of a closet.

To Penny or Not To Penny?

It's not really a question in my mind. Not To Penny seems like the obvious answer. Really, there's not a lot of practical use for it. I went to Italy over a year ago; there, every cent either ends in 5 or 0. Works for them...why can't it for US(A)? Sure, John Doe would say that I'm crazy for suggesting that we round sales taxes up to the nearest multiple of five. But if it helps the economy by saving money that would otherwise be spent minting coins nobody uses, I consider it worth it. Besides, I'm one of those people who would like to see sales tax already figured into the prices of products.

Anyway, I had this really well thought out, imo, a few days ago and some of those brilliant thoughts have left my head. I know the system is far from perfect, and people would argue it, but still...
Let me know your thoughts on the Penny.

I am right here; I go by Pantherpop on another site.
Mr. K4sho seems to have a problem with me and the fact that I questioned why he would go on one site and run down a team in his own district, and go on another site and not be as aggressive. He said that he was carrying on a civil discussion with a poster on SDC, I asked why the two faces and go ahead and say it like he did on here.

His original post was the following.
Be sure and beat the $#%$ outta Whitehouse. For some reason our win over them at their place or the playoff thumping they received last year failed to bring them back from lala land.
He did say that he had received a U2U about what he thought about Whitehouse I am not sure why he then decided to post it on the Celina thread instead or responding back thru a U2U message?

on the other site he described it
"Of course , Celina will not be as loaded as our 05 team that's for sure. In my honest opinion I think you guys are losing too much to keep Celina from putting your Cats away".
"Of course I could be wrong".

He said that the Whitehouse posters had claimed greatness from another thread. This is what one poster said and is the only pro Whitehouse post on that thread.

Whitehouse and Longview will be the top 4A teams out of East Texas. Whitehouse is full of deep, deep, talent that has a chance to make a State Champion run this next year. Don't be surprised to see Longview and Whitehouse ranked in the top 10 to start the season.

From that post he got the following.

The Whitehouse fans DO talk a lot of smack , with only 2 years of good football to back it up . It is crazy for them to think they will go undefeated next year , considering some of the teams they play and what they lost from 07(even if I did get the Rider thing wrong) . It is crazy to think they will beat Longview or Texas High(when 2 years prior they were scared to play Texas High when WH had the best team they ever fielded) in the first round and even crazier for them to think they are title bound in 08.

He keeps replying that he only speaks 100% the truth, well that is his opinion and he can certainly have one. He keeps saying that we are homers because we will not take what he has to say as the gospel and when we challenge anything he says he wants to go the homer route. It is very clear that there is a strong resentment towards Whitehouse and anytime somebody posts anything about how they are excited about how the team is going to do against another team or how they might do next year, he comes on and picks the post apart with negative comments that he thinks is "100% the truth"

After we had our little ta-da-te he got into it with others, one of the moderators asked him to stop bashing others on the tread, it is my understanding he was asked more than once, he then posted a heated reply and one of the administrators banned him. I didn't see the last of his posts when he got banned but then he came on here looking for ya'll support and calling me out.

I have no personnel vendetta against K4sho and I do not like to see anybody get banned. He does have a very good knowledge of high school football, but for some reason has a hatred for the Whitehouse fans and those of us that choose to post on Smoaky. Good luck to both Whitehouse and Celina next year, I will be pulling for my Panthers.

Congress, Clemens & Mac

House Panel Postpones Clemens Hearing
By HOWARD FENDRICH – 2 hours ago

WASHINGTON (AP) — Everyone is getting some extra time to prepare for Roger Clemens' appearance on Capitol Hill. That includes Clemens, of course, along with his teammate, workout partner and friend Andy Pettitte, and their former trainer Brian McNamee. And Congress itself.

The House hearing involving Clemens, Pettitte and McNamee was postponed Wednesday from Jan. 16 until Feb. 13, allowing lawmakers to take depositions from the witnesses, gather other evidence and coordinate their investigation with the Justice Department.

The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform was to begin meeting with lawyers for the witnesses Thursday. Clemens' attorney, Rusty Hardin, said he hopes to meet with committee staffers next week. In addition, McNamee was to meet with federal prosecutors Thursday in New York.

"Roger hasn't done anything," Hardin said. "The federal government looking at Roger is fine with me."

Plans are still in place for the committee's Jan. 15 hearing with commissioner Bud Selig, union leader Donald Fehr and former Senate majority leader George Mitchell, whose report on steroids in baseball contained McNamee's allegations that he injected Clemens with performance-enhancing drugs.

Questioned by federal prosecutors last year, McNamee said he injected Clemens with steroids and human growth hormone in 1998, 2000 and 2001. Prosecutors had him repeat those charges to Mitchell, and since the report was issued last month, Clemens has repeatedly and vehemently denied them
................................................................................
..................
Can anyone give a good reason why Congress has postponed that hearing and give a legal reason why Federal Prosecutors from the Justice Department are now involved?

In the past federal procecutors have been used to trap people so the procecutors can take them to court.

Remember the middle aged woman who had a TV cooking show who was innocent but convicted for lying to procecutors?

Hippies Today

Thursday night, I was working on a band concert. I had to get food quickly, so I just decided to get some at the pharmacy/deli across the street. Well, it's kinda like a miniature version of Whole Foods Market or Central Market. Yeah, one of those places. So I shouldn't have been to optimistic w/the BBQ Wrap I ordered. (I added bacon for an extra 50 cents. Bacon is good) I placed the order and waited. After a couple of minutes, the man making the food called my name and said "I'm sorry but we're out of bacon." I said "It's kool," and decided it was no big deal. But literally about 2 seconds later, the guy says "Sorry, I forgot, we're also out of beef. I can make it w/chicken if that's okay." Inside, my jaw dropped, but I kept the real one in check as I told him it was fine. But then I put the "wrap" in my mouth and it was so utterly disgusting. The BBQ sauce was SWEET, like literally sweet. YUCK!!!

I am just so fed up with hippies! If you can't make a decent BBQ wrap, don't offer it. And why on earth do you need to specify that your beef and chicken are "grass fed." What else is a cow gonna eat? Steak!? (corn, maybe, but other than that...) And since when do chicken's eat grass?
These places sell "Whey Protein" by the gallon! What the heck is Whey Protein and why do I need it? If it's gonna give me dreadlocks like the guy behind the counter, I don't want any. Am I gonna die young w/out it? No! So why use it!?
And what on earth is w/tofu and other artificial meats? If you ask me, if you decide to become a vegetarian, you should live w/the consequences of your decisions and not taste anything like meat.

Out of time right now. I might write more later.

TV Commercials

Supposedly, the average American watches 4 hours of TV per day. Well, personally (especially during the summer) I watch quite a bit more than that. It's plenty of time to see commercials. Some commercials I think are funny. Others I don't understand. Some, I'm just sick of seeing. Feel free to use this thread to rant about commercials, good or bad, hated or loved.

Right now, I'm gonna rant about the Geico Cavemen.

This was funny...when it first came out. Remember that? Just a family of cavemen watching a Geico commercial that says "So easy a caveman can do it!" Then one of the cavemen says "That is really condesending..."

Then it was funny again when you see the cavemen meeting w/Geico reps.

But now it's just gotten old. I mean, they've been doing this Caveman thing for years. It's time to get a new angle. People are just sick of the cavemen. Now, no matter what they come up w/it's just boring! But can you escape 'em? Nope. Everywhere you turn there's a caveman.

However, I don't make the same argument for the Gecko. I mean, a Gecko w/an accent doing human activities is much more presentable than an unshaven stuck up caveman trying to get his way.

Parents at drag races...

I don't know how many of you have ever been to a drag racing event (especially a Nationals event), but I have a (sort of) rant about parents who don't provide their kids with ear protection at these events.

I went to the O'Reilly Fall Nations in Ennis last year.

Well, I was just spending a little time in the pit area, wandering around, checking out the souvenir shops, the auto parts booths, the cars, etc.

I was standing at a souvenir shop very near to where a Top Fuel car was. Keep this in mind about Top Fuel:

Quote

Top Fuel dragsters are notorious for the deafening amount of noise their engines create-at full throttle. They generate over 150 dB, enough to cause some peoples' eardrums physical pain. The intense levels of sound are not only heard, but also felt as pounding vibrations all over one's body, leading many to compare the experience of watching a Top Fuel dragster make a pass to 'feeling as though the entire drag strip is being bombed'. Prior to the dragsters going down the strip, race announcers usually advise spectators to cover or plug their ears—indeed, ear plugs and even earmuffs are often handed out to fans at the entrance to a Top Fuel event.

Now, if an adult wants to ruin their hearing, that's their prerogative. But I saw this couple next to me in the pit area (by the souvenir stand very near the Top Fuel car) who had an infant with no ear protection!! And when the race team started up their top fuel car (they do it to seat parts in the engine, and make sure everything was put together correctly, usually lasts a couple of minutes). These folks didn't even consider covering the baby's ears!!

Made me really mad.

Antiques & Memories

My grandmother will be moving in a few weeks. Not far, just to a nearby neighborhood...quiet, nice, seniorized. So today, it was the duty of myself and my sister to help grandma pack. Well, as we were going through the house, we found some old stuff. A lot of it seemed interesting and my grandmother let me have it; what myself, her, or my sister don't take will be left for my aunt and uncle, who will now own the house my grandma lives in. I was awestruck at some of these finds, but grandma just said, "You take it." Some pewter mugs (steins?) of my late grandfathers (PawPaw) were a couple of those items. Well, grandma isn't in the greatest shape, and while we were sitting in her dining area, she pointed out that the house hasn't been cleaned much in a long time. She pointed out some dead roses hanging on a decorated plate display...those roses were put there when PawPaw died over 4 years ago. Then she told me to go look at his side of the bed on the headboard. So I went and looked, and there was a good looking belt wrapped around the bedpost...the last belt grandma bought him. And it's remained there since he passed.
While in the garage, I came across a very old Bible. I showed it to grandma...it had been her grandfather's. Not only did it have the Word, but also a family history. It listed the name, birthdate, and city of birth of all of his children, including grandma's father. It had a (not official) record of his marriage..or possibly my grandma's parent's marriage. Also, there were some notes written in pencil on a blank page. Grandma told me and my sister stories about her grandfather while we listened attentively, hanging on her every word.
Going to grandma's this morning, my sister and I thought we were in for one of the most agonizingly boring days of our lives. We couldn't have been more wrong. Our grandmother's trip down memory lane, our grandfather's old possesions, and quite the history lesson gave us a day we'll never forget. My sister is keeping the Bible, and I'll be taking home some other items of equal or greater importance to me. Now, I anticipate Friday when I'll see grandma again and hopefully find more priceless family treasures. I never got to know PawPaw well, but I'm doing my best to carry on his legacy and to be a grandson that he'd be proud of.

I don't care what anybody says, they're not as easy or intuative as some say to work with. I had hands on experience in that department today.

And don't get me to talking about capturing the footage and trying to hopefully made HDV footage work in a DV platform. Since nobody else around me knew, I can only hope and pray my guesses are going to be correct. I'll find out tomorrow first thing.

People taking advantage of other's private property

My wife and I were coming home tonight. Our route took us past my piece of commercial property. The nieghbor next door to me out there has put a dumpter on the property (with my premission of course). As we were passing by we noticed an out of state truck with two men throwing trash in the dumpster. I whipped back around and we pulled in the parking lot and I had my wife write down the plate number. Just a few minutes ago I emailed it to my neighbor and if he wants to do something about it, I'll be more than happy to back him up.

Some people have no class, decency, regard, respect or plain simple good manners. When I had a dumpter out there it was a common occurance for people to just drive up and throw their trash in my dumpster. Twice, possibly three times I've caught people out there. One guy looked at me with a "so what, what you are gonna do?" attitude. Looking back, I honestly wish I had gotten physically violent with him. One family, after me repeatedly yelling at them, finally stopped and drove off.

I cannot express to you how angry this would make me. I payed for that dumpster, not them. But they felt because it was near a road, that gives them the right to use it.

No.......it.......does............NOT!

People who use other people's private property should be caught and punished so harshley that they make a mess in their pants every time they come near a dumpster from now on. Frankly, I almost hope my neighbor can find a way to run down who these people are, load up all the trash in a box, and send it back them C.O.D. and postage due at time of recieving.

And what few friends I have in this world wonder why I'm so angry at the human race seemingly all the time. It's jerks and morons like these two I caught this evening that keep stoking my fire.

The odd numbered year

I hate politics. We all know that and I've not been shy about my opinion. Everytime I think I can get any more sick of politics, something happens that ramps up my hatred another notch.

It's an odd numbered year. We shouldn't be subject to all the crap of elections with the exception of local elections here and there. But it seems like this year just about every time you turn around you see something about the '08 election.

And I'll be as nice as I possibley can since I'm sure I'll offend somebody here, but it seems to me that the most we hear about next years election is coming from a certain party (hint, their team mascot is a ******* and it's a ******* for good reason as far as I'm concerned ) who seems to be doing nothing but foaming at the mouth in anticipation of next year.

I hate politics.

I've never liked this party and probably never will. I wouldn't vote for anybody from that party unless God Himself tells me too. My disdain, disgust, contempt, revulsion and loathing is at an all time high (or low depending on how you look at it) for these people. There are times I wonder if the top tier of my party really cares about the common American, but I know the top tier of the other party could care less about me. I sometimes wonder if all the top tier of my party cares about is power. I know all the top tier of the other party cares about is staying in power and I wouldn't put anything past them to get it and keep it.

We, the good people of this country, should be given a break on odd numbered years from this idiocy. Instead, we see headlines nearly every week and CNN and MSNBC are bombarding us with "race to the whitehouse" programs every week. You would think the world, and I mean the whole #%$#^#%%# world, lived and died on our political process here in America. Most of my adult life, especially the last 10+ years, I've looked forward to the odd year because we were given a break from signs in yards, mudslinging on TV, headlines in the newspapers, signs on the roads and all the crap that comes with an election year. But not this year.

I hate politics.

I'm tired of driving down the road seeing bumper stickers for the '08 election. I'm tired of going on websites and seeing banners promoting next years election. I'm tired of popups on websites that are designed to bash the present administration. I'm tired of seeing headlines in newpapers talking about next years election like it's a done deal already.

And because of this, and because most of it is centered about the above mentioned party with the ******* mascot, my disgust and hatred for them has grown even more since they seem to think I want to hear all thier crap in an odd numbered year. If they think they're going to persuade me to support them by bombarding me, they've got another thing coming. Actually, they've got the usual thing from me coming; a single vote that gives no support, no love, no respect and no nothing but an absolute, no question, no quarter given vote of "you'll never get my support unless God Himself tells me too."

I hate politics.

And I'm getting to where I hate the American political process. I will still admit that we've probably got the best system in the world, but it has some serious issues that need to be worked out. And I don't know what to do about it. I might have a couple of radical ideas, but they're ideas that would probably never fly in the first place.

I'm tired of what is obviously nothing but a big oversized sandlot fight between two kids to see who is ruler of the sandbox. And yes, I'll grant you that sometimes my party can be just as bad. But like I've implied above, the other party (to me) would take the sandbox away from everybody and make sure nobody else but them and their chosen few play in it. And I probably wouldn't be in that chosen few.

I hate politics.

Here's what I believe is a fair question. Why does our country seem so obsessed with politics these days? Don't we have other things to worry about? Here's another one. Does anybody truly believe that one party is the answer? I thought we the American people working together was the answer. I guess I was wrong. Seems like when Bush was here in Texas, Texas kinda came together and people worked to get things done regardless of the party they supported. I guess it was too much to hope for that on a nationwide level.

I hate politics and I think we should be entitled to not hear about it in the odd numbered year. In the past I've posted my thoughts on Christmas and how it should be a retail/commerical practice (better yet, a law) that nothing Christmas related should be brought out until at least after Halloween. I get sick of going in a store around early to mid fall and they've already got evidence of Christmas everywhere. If I didn't know the true meaning of Christmas, I would consider it a cheap retail holiday and nothing more. As it stands, it's more a cheap retail holiday and less of what it's supposed to mean as it stands.

I think the same should be true for politics and elections. No signs, no programs, no headlines, no NOTHING until the even numbered year and even then, not until late in the year. And I would hold my party to the same rule and standard. I don't even wanna hear their yaps flapping until I have too.

Government is supposed to be by the people and for the people. These days it's seems like it's by the parties involved and for the parties to make sure they can stay in power with cursory lip service and empty promises to the average American if they can get your vote. Like I said, I know one party could care less about the average American and thinks of them as nothing but a means to their ends. And sometimes I'm not sure about the other party, and I would cast serious doubts on any other major party to boot.

I've voted all my adult life and until they find a way to take my vote from me, I'll continue to vote. But the longer our country goes and the more it seems to be about little piss-ant whiny special interest groups and keeping them happy and less about me as a taxpayer, the more disgusted I get. The more it seems like illegal immigrants have more rights than me and the more they take my taxes, the more disgusted I get. I want to know, when is it going to be about me again? When it is going to be about the taxpayers in this country who are getting taxed nearly to death by the govenment so illegal aliens can live a good life here and work for cash not put back into the system? When is the private property owner going to get a break and not be taxed out of home and land just so city, county and state officials can have a never ending ATM to access? When is my money going to fix roads and not build shrines to the most powerful local political leaders? When are we going to quit letting know-it-nones in Hollywierd tell us what right and wrong are? When are we going to focus on real issues right here in our country and do something for the real owners of the country (that's.......you and me fellow taxpayer) and quit letting the government we support relegate and legislate us to the point of politically correct extenction? When are we going to quit playing patty-cake with the rest of the world on touchy, hot-button issues and go get a job done regardless of what the UN, EU and others think? When are we going to tell the know-it-none mainstream media to just shut up?

When are we going to go back to getting a repreive and a rest from all this political crap on odd numbered years with the exception of a local and the rare state election?

I........just..........want........something.........for..........LUNCH!

I went to the pharmacy today and while I was out, I thought I would go eat lunch. Here's a chronological timeline of what I went through. Submitted for your approval:

Left the pharmacy and headed towards Pizza Hut. The pharmacy we use is basically in the center of town. The PH is about three quarters of a mile East of the courthouse. I thought I could be making a mistake, but I decided to take a shot anyways.

Got to the Hut and saw the parking lot was full. In the past few weeks I've learned if the parking lot is full at lunch, you might as well drive on. It took me two times to learn that lesson, but oh well. I came to the conclusion it wasn't worth the risk and aggrivation, so I kept on driving through the parking lot and left.

I then headed to Taco Bell. TB is on the far South side of town basically 2+ miles from the courthouse. And at this time of day, it's really a pain to get there, but I thought I would try.

I get there, and they're full. Again, experience has taught me that when TB is full, drive on.

I headed back INTO town, back towards the courthouse. I drove past the KFC, Arby's, Jack In The Box and a new mexican place I haven't had the nerve to try yet.

I circled back around and went to KFC. We've had a lot of problems with our KFC here in Weatherford. Recently they re-did the whole place. They made it look all nice and pretty.

I went inside and ordered. Turns out, this is lunchtime mind you, they really don't have anything ready to serve. WHAT!?!?!

I ordered the variety special. No original recipie. OK, give me extra crispy. She goes to the back and says they don't have that either and it will be 3 minutes before anything is done. I said "you don't have anything ready?!" She said no. I said "thanks" and just left. They made the inside and outside look nice and new, but did NOTHING about all the problems this KFC has been having for a long, long time.

I wound up at a Dairy Queen.....on my side of town that we live on. Even then, the food wasn't the best. But it got me something and came home.

In the end, with hindsight being 20/20, I could've basically stayed on my side of town. But I wound up going to the East and South side of town and then back to my side of town. The smart thing might have been to have my perscription delivered to my inlaws store, have my wife go by and pick it up after work, stay home and fix a TV dinner for lunch. It would've been cheaper and less aggrivating.

It used to be pretty easy to get around Weatherford any time of day. Now, you might as well prepare to be out for a while if all you want to do is go get something to eat during lunch. There's no easy place to get in and out of hardly anymore around here. You either go early, or go late. But if you're in a hurry, forget about going during the regular lunch hour.

I miss my small town. It's not huge and gigantic now, but for the size we still are, it has way too many people here right now. I wish about half the population would just leave and go back to Dallas or wherever they came from.
