i know they are tough i just think they will wear TL down and run away late in 2nd half to a 17 point victory!!!! Now Longview on the other hand with the air and AWESOME GROUND ATTACK would beat Colerian by the same diifrence.

You think Longview would beat Colerain by 17?

Both teams are in my national top 10, but I'd project a narrow Colerain victory...either way, I don't see it as a 17-point spread.

I think with the players Longview has returning and the ones Colerian lost they(Colerian) wont be near the team they were last season. Longview on the other hand will be better than last season and my pick to win the state champioship in Texas where as Colerian will not in Ohio. Colerian won its first state title last season and after i see how they respond then i will determine if they just had an awesome class come through(which happens sometimes) or they are really builing a program up there. I have Glenville as my top ranked team in Ohio in preseason.

Longview must be really awesome then.

Colerain will have an excellent o-line with one of the nation's top prospects and another senior D1A player. They'll have a D1A RB and another who will likely go D1AA. Historically, their QBs are very good, though there are questions this year.

On defense, they'll have 2 D1A linebackers, a future D1A in the secondary (Eugene Clifford) and I understand they have a junior nose guard who is very big and likely to go D1A the following year.

And they are extremely well-coached and run the option like clockwork.

I'm not saying that Longview couldn't beat them. But by 17?

It looks like Longview will be REDICULOUSLY good this year. I rank them #2 in TX this year behind SLC, only because of my great respect for SLC recent ability to reload. Longview could easily turn out to be #1 in the nation, rolling easily to a State Championship. However, they play the games on the field, and not on paper, for a reason, so im not predicting that yet.

IMO longview will be the best team in Texas this season. They return alot of starters from a talented team that went undefeated in a tough district. They return the best one two punch combination of rb's possbly in the country,Vontrell Magee and Chris Ivory (both will go d-1). Besides the RB's they also have TE Adrian Reese 6'6 215, OL Trenton Williams 6'5 290, DE Cody Williams 6'5 250(runs a 4.6 40),LB Tony Johnson 6' 205 lbs,LB Kelcie oliver 5'11 190(2nd on team in tackels with 100),Qb Carlin Freeman 5'8 170(probably not QB in college , possibly a corner or PR/KR) and Jarvis Pitman ( can play both sides of the ball very effectively and is probably the best athlete on the team) all will be playing d-1 after there tenure at longview.WR may be the only position of concern after the Loss of all-state WR malcom kelly to graduation, they have two small(around 5'8, both of them)wideouts but ought to be clicking on all cylenders and on the same page with Carlin by participating in 7 on 7 all summer and building team chemistry that means more to builging a championship ball club as everyone who knows football is aware of.

Glenville will be a fine team this year and worthy of National Top 25 consideration, but I don't think they will be quite as good as last year's team and will probably have the Tarblooders #3 in OH when i release my eagerly awaited B) Ohio D1 preview and state champion predictions, which have found the mark in 3 of 4 years in its history

I'll be expecting my boy Rocco Pentello and Westerville South to make a prominent showing.

Not even I would predict Longview by 17 over Colerain. Yes I do think we would beat the Cards but not by 17. I would say by 3.

This years Longview team will be incredible and the 7 on 7 comment was intended to back my beliefs that its a great tool for building team chemistry nit a particular team..ANY team.

I wonder how much 'Tribute' had to be paid by Colerain and ESPN to make this happen... :rant2:

Any Tyler Lee fans or fans of other TX schools plan on making the trip to Ohio??
