When I arrived at Tiger Field last year, I heard a couple of people say 2 additional players would be held out of the game, but Beasley was the only one I noticed who didn't play. In hind sight, after hearing Dennis express regret he wasn't available to help his team in the final quarter of the Corsicana game, and the extraordinary restraint (not wanting to hurt the team) he showed against Dallas Kimball, who clearly made him a marked man, I would say holding him out was the best thing for him, and the team.

While it's true I never want to lose to a Corsicana or a Waxahachie or an anybody really, I would take a 13-2 state championship season anytime- no questions asked!!! For me as a fan, the sting of losing that game was gone once I started to focus on the playoff bracket and possibilities...

Corsicana football titles:
UIL - Corsicana Hi
1932: Corsicana 0, Fort Worth Masonic Home 0
1963: 3A - Corsicana 7, Pharr 0
PVIL - Corsicana Jackson
1953: 2A- Corsicana Jackson 19, Abilene Woodson 0
1956: 2A- Corsicana Jackson 18, Denton Moore 0
1957: 2A- Corsicana Jackson 46, Denton Moore 0
1968: 3A- Corsicana Jackson 31, Gladewater Weldon 6

(I'm proud to say my grandpa was an assistant of those 1950's Jackson teams!!!)

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

And I am proud to say my Grandpa was one of the ones kickin ur **** back then too on the field.....Ask ur grand pappy bout the arse whippins he used to get when the CAN was in town...I bet he hasn't forgot them

Ahhhh, its feels good to have some real football trashtalking in April. Thanks for humoring me on this thread Roo, sometime I forget that we haven't won state championship since I've been alive, even more ironically we've lost one. And Top Row for reminding me of her motto and the need for sunglasses when viewing all those SC rings. And 76 for making me realize that we need to come back down to earth with the rest of the football peons. Sometimes I forget where the center of HS football universe resides.

All I know is come November, we'll be coming to Ennis to win. And maybe your right, maybe our guys look forward to playing Ennis more than Ennis looks forward to playing our guys. Either way, we'll still take the win and the bragging rights.

Wait BigSexy, thats an Anti-Ennis stat. Careful, or you'll be cast to the trenches of the unworthly. I feel its only a matter of time before the football gods from the "offical footbal CAPITAL of the WORLD" strike down upon you.

Now quick, swear your allegance to the almighty "E". :worship1: :worship1: :worship1:

Ohhhhh, BigSexy, I fear you've committed poster suicide. Anyone who fails to bow to the bling, bling and doesn't weep at the sight of the "E" shall presumed a traitor. I beg you to reconsider, I've seen the error of my ways and I know believe as the Ennis faithful believe..............all that matters is the last 5 years.

I also believe the world is flat, Santa Claus lives at the North pole and football as we know it was invented in Ennis sometime in the fall of 2000.

I don't know what the hell you are talking about, *******!!!

I only wish my grandfather was alive today so I could talk to him- about anything. The point I'm was trying to make that Corsicana DOES have a history, though ancient, of winning state championships, by the two high schools it has had.

Maybe you and your grandfather are bothered by the fact that the Jackson Bears won twice as many championships as the Corsicana Tigers!!! And since my grandfather coached during segregation/Jim Crow era, I seriously doubt your grandfather (or anyone else at CHS back then) wanted anything to do him, on or off the field!!! And if you ever have seen my grandfather, you would know immediately that your's was lying big time about kicking his or any other Jackson Bear's ****!!!

Whoa, I just went back and looked your post 76, and I think BigSexy might have read it wrong. He wouldn't say anything bad about Jackson, especially since he's one of the ones who like to include their numbers with Corsicana High in some of those "all-time team numbers" discussions.

Thats awesome that your granddad was part of that. Those were some awesome teams. I've listened to my grandfather talk about it. Its a shame that the two schools weren't put together because I think we would have alot more Corsicana, as a entire town, state championships.

That's funny right there, I don't care who you are...that's funny.
