Sounds like 76 knows more about Corsicana history than the Cana fans.

That's funny right there, I don't care who you are...that's funny.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Naturally, 76 would know. His family history goes way back in the Can. He's probably got more family in the Can than here in Ennis. We're lucky he didn't move off to that POS place, I can't even imagine him being Corsicana HS 76 YUK! That would be just wrong!!!

Otto, That big family of yours in the Can, they like to buy lots of cars, don't they? :gee:

LOL LOL

Yeah, I was born in the CAN. All my family- grandparents, mother, father, sisters, cousins, aunts, etc graduated high school (Jackson or CHS) in the CAN. I'm the only one in my extended family who graduated from Ennis (yes, there is a God)!!!

People who know me know that while I may talk smack with any of our rivals, I do respect and acknowledge any history behind their team and/or community, especially if it's better than our own. That is why when you asked about CAN's championship years, I included the title years of the Jackson Bears in the PVIL. In other words, I was trying to give a rival something of a compliment by showing as a school district, CISD has more football state championships than EISD (best of my knowledge, Ennis Carver has no championships). I would go even further to say that as Corsicana Hi has historically dominated Ennis Hi on the gridiron, so has Jackson Hi dominated Carver Hi during the years they played.

As an assistant football coach (and head??? track coach), my grandfather played a significant part in the success the Jackson Bears enjoyed in the 50's. That's why I mentioned him in my post- just being a proud grandson. I would think anyone with common sense would recognize that I didn't say anything negative about "Corsicana Hi" in that post to warrant an attack on my grandfather by a Tiger fan.

And yes, the family I still have in the CAN loves to buy cars!!! LOL Why do you ask???

Come on T-ROW, u can do better than that...

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Why of course I could, the only problem would be, you comprehending it. Yall still can't get it through your thick melons that "We simply, just don't give a sh!t" about that game or about the Ennis/Cana win/lose record or I don't' anyway big whoopie Doooo. I'll tell ya what we do care about though and that is Rings, Rings, Ring's & Ring Bling, and Harrell has plenty and more in store. So, on that note...

Harrell ~3 Overall 4
Henigan ~0
:D
So how many is that you have, and what era in time? I looked on your website do you not have a History link. I kinda figured since yall take such great pride in that Ennis/Cana Record it would have surely been there, I guess if that's all ya got, then brag on wit ya bad selves then.

Hey, That gives me an idea maybe I'll do a poll. Something like would you rather hold the record in beating a rival or Winning a State Championship? So you can see in Black & White, what most people would say....Now just seeing that written, How retarted is that? Silly Fools :bottom:

You guys amaze me, you really do. You can talk as much trash as you want about Corsicana beating Ennis, but the fact is great teams are not measured on how they do in the regular season, ask the Buffalo Bills, they are measured on how they fair in the playoffs and how many CHAMPIONSHIPS they win. And I really do think a large majority of Corsicana people would rather beat Ennis then win a state title. I have heard Hennigan say that one of his biggest obstacles is getting rid of that attitude in the town and program, he said something to this affect, Its not a Super Bowl, but a lot of people in this town sure do think it is. So continue stating your win-loss record against Ennis, and your HEYAIO sayings, and printing up T shirts, and Ennis will continue to win rings.

I think TopRow's approach to this debate is pretty good and much more colorful than ours. Let me use it from the Corsicana standpoint.

"I simply don't give a sh$t" about your state championships when I'm talking about Cana/Ennis. Those rings didn't keep us from driving the feild twice for scores last November. I'll tell you what I care about when I'm talking about Ennis/Cana which is Ennis/Cana (wow, thats pretty profound). So on that note

Corsicana 23 wins

Ennis 6 wins

You've won all these state champioships but Corsicana seems to own you in the record books. I went to your website, and 90% deals with the last five years and 10% deals with the last 90 years..................I guess thats right because there ain't much to talk about in those 90 years. So I guess when all you've got to bring to table in the Cana/Ennis arguement is a bunch of games that Corsicana had nothing to do with, then go on with ya bad self.

That gives me an idea, I think I'll do a poll and ask people "If you have to debate about a rivalry, would rather have info relating to the tradition of the rivalry or to some games that have nothing to do with the rivalry? Its pretty black and white.

Boy this fun. I like we how we took over the Prediction for 2005 thread with Ennis/Cana.

ef.com has only been around for the last few years, so naturally, there's more info about that era. Had ef.com been around in the 80's or 90's, I can assure you, it would have that info. Those guys are doing a hell of a job putting new fresh info up for ALL (including you) to find.

**example - - Where did you find the Ennis vs. Cana all time record?

If you're gonna knock on the website, then don't use the information you find there to support your arguements.

You know, in the end, I'm glad you guys in the Can have something to be proud of. It would REALLY suck if you would've lost to Ennis AND fell short of a ring (again). At least you can chaulk it as a successful season. If only Ennis had a team to measure their season against...

Its obvious Sendero that your going to talk about the most recent years. I mean what teams do you hear talking about the 60's, 70's, 80's? And like I already stated, thats great that Corsicana has beaten Ennis in most of the meetings, great teams are measured by Championships, not district titles.

I sincerely apologize about the comments made in reference to Grandpa's. I didn't read it correctly. In my mind , I was thinking you were makin fun because it has been a while since we have won a championship. I got mixed up in op Row's comments about being sooo long since we have won. I always brag about Jackson High. I was referring to all the wins in previous years before the new Ennis Era emerged in the last 5 yrs. No disrespect to you my brother. My bad.

Your are exactly right in everything you posted. Great teams are measured on playoffs and SC. I've never contested as to the greatness of your program during Harrells run. Obviuosly our record over the last five years includes short play-off runs.

One very important line needs to be drawn. What the people in Corsicana want and the goals of the team are two different things. I seriously doubt anyone is nieve enough to believe that Henigan, Berry, Wilson, Denbow, etc. ever had agenda that included anything other than state championships. The people of Corsicana sit in the stands and the teams play the games.

All I can say is this, the notions that you have about Corsicana and beating Ennis spur from Ennis's success. I've said it before, only a hand full of people will get a chance to play one of the most successful programs in Texas's modern era. So do me favor, please quit acting like you can't understand why we are so passionate about this game. Heaven forbid you embrace this rivalry which is clearly built out of the respect and state championship that you've earned, and instead brush it off as just another game.

So if we're making blanket comments here, let me make one.

I have to beleive the people of Corsicana have an extreme passion for this game because it seems the people of Ennis, look right passed us as just another game.

On a side note, I don't care if we go 4-6 in the regular season, as long as we win the SC. I've posted on here because I like to argue. I've been told I'd agree with a possum.

Teams don't worry about the past, I hear a tons fans though, if you need proof, look at the numerous threads on this site about winning percentage, victories, play-offs appearances and these threads are nationwide. I'll agree that great teams are measured by their championships but great programs require other factors such as persistance, victories, winning percentage, etc.

I bet those same few thousand fans are at the Athens game, Red Oak game, and every playoff game. Doesn't matter the game, doesn't matter the location, doesn't matter the outcome, the Ennis faithful will show up by the thousands to EVERY game.

You guys have the mindset that the Ennis fans think the football world revolves around them, when it's more and more apparent that you guys WANT the football world (or anything for that matter) to revolve around corsicana.

If only Ennis had a team to measure their success by...

Man, I didn't get a single thing done at work today but it sure was fun kicking all this BS around.  And I hope no one took our posts as anything more than BS, especially 76.  I guess I've ran my head enough for a long time so I'll start the Prediction aspect back up

FACT or FICTION

TopRow will still be at the Ennis/Cana game even though she doen't give a sh%t about that game?  :coolhat:

That's a Fact, Jack! Plus, I'll be there early so I can visit with you guys & girls then maybe we can all go for a nightcap and a big ole group hug afterwards to celebrate the Ennis Win, Sound like a winner? :kicking:

I sincerely apologize about the comments made in reference to Grandpa's.  I didn't read it correctly.  In my mind , I was thinking you were makin fun because  it has been a while since we have won a championship.  I got mixed up in op Row's comments about being sooo long since we have won.  I always brag about Jackson High.  I was referring to all the wins in previous years before the new Ennis Era emerged in the last 5 yrs.  No disrespect to you my brother.  My bad.

Thank you very much for that reply. Everything is cool!!!
