So, do you have photos of your grandfather in his glory days as a player/Coach? with the Jackson Bears? Long line of educators in that bloodline, huh?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

All I remember seeing are photos in a Jackson yearbook from one year (I can't remember which). Most of what I know of his coaching years has come from former players and my grandmother. The only thing I remember him telling me about those years was how I caused him to miss an important game in 1957 because I waited too late in the day to be born- I heard it all my life!!! A couple of weeks before he passed ('84), after he saw me coming towards his hospital room, he start telling the nurses about how I made him miss that game... LOL

You guys have the mindset that the Ennis fans think the football world revolves around them, when it's more and more apparent that you guys WANT the football world (or anything for that matter) to revolve around corsicana.

If only Ennis had a team to measure their success by...

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

You probably shouldn't have wrote the second sentence if you want your first sentence to hold any water :bleh:

As for a team to measure your success by, I'd look for team whose program was sub-par before a good coach got there and returned to sub-par when he leaves. Also you might make sure that team as some opponents that have beat them 8 out of every 10 times that they've played. EVEN IN THE YEAR THEY WON A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP :cooldude:

That's a Fact, Jack! Plus, I'll be there early so I can visit with you guys & girls then maybe we can all go for a nightcap and a big ole group hug afterwards to celebrate the Ennis Win, Sound like a winner? :kicking:

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I'm all in on that. Even if Ennis somehow manages to win...................

Let me explain it for ya... See, it was a shot at the Can. You guys define a successful season on whether or not you beat Ennis. Ennis fans define it on how big the ring is at the end of the year.

I'll try and keep it simple for ya from now on.

No let me explain it to you....You see once upon a time, long, long ago, there was a team in Ennis Texas that played the game of football. They had a very hard time winning ball games until a man by the name of Harrell came along. Until then, they couldn't even hardly fill their stands much less beat anyone. Corsicana in the mean time was in their district and was always on top winning and beating Ennis. They hated playing us because it was usually a massacre. Ennis got smart and hired a real coach who obviously surrounded himself with good assistants who could motivate and make kids believe they were winners. It caught on and the rest is history. Ennis was never a measuring stick as you like to say for Corsicana. We were not in your district for about 10 or so years so we didn't get to continue playing ya'll. As I understood, the coaches and AD before Harrell wouldn't schedule Corsicana in Non District. Then ya'll got better and better and beat Corsicana a couple of times and then all of a sudden ya'll were the elite team. You go on to win State a few times and now are declared the best of the best. The only reason the Ennis game became THE GAME as u like to call it, is because of Graham Harrell the year before last who blistered our butts and was pretty cocky about it with the taunting on the sidelines. He had a right to do so because he was good and he beat our butts. Then you got the Great Coach Berry to join you as we didn't want him anymore because our program was going down the tubes. That is why we were so pumped about last years game. We wanted to be back on top of that scenario. So now we are and do have bragging rights to that particular game. I am glad you won State because that even makes our season more of a success to say we beat the State Champs when we weren't supposed to be JACK CRAP as your FEARLESS LEADER, MR DEFENSE HIMSELF aka Berry put it before he left here. That is why that game was so big.

So now you know the story DUDE..Now it won't be that big of a deal to us this year. Plus that game was dedicated to the late COACH DON BARTON, EX DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR who passed away in April 04. Great man and was a main reason for the success at CHS for those 20 plus years he was there. He created HEYAIO and we just brought it back. God works in mysterious ways.

WE AS A COMMUNITY LOVE OUR FOOTBALL AS MUCH AS ANYONE. AND WHEN YOU ARE THE 3RD MOST WINNINGEST PROGRAM IN THAT STATE, YOU SHOULD BE. SO THAT IS WHERE THE NEXT SLOGAN COMES FROM

"AT THE CAN, WE DON'T REBUILD-WE RELOAD"

One more time for slow ones in the back of the class:

You guys have the mindset that the Ennis fans think the football world revolves around them, when it's more and more apparent that you guys WANT the football world (or anything for that matter) to revolve around corsicana.

If only Ennis had a team to measure their success by...

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Sentence 1: A statement DISPROVING Cana's notion that Ennis is arrogant and conceded.

Sentence 2: A statement PROVING Cana's notion that Ennis is arrogant and conceded.

Lesson of the day: Hyprocrisy. Don't make statement 2 if you want statement 1 to hold any water.

Class Dismissed :coolhat:

No, more like shut ur arse down....Now u know what the REAL DEAL is and ur statements don't hold water.

October won't be any good because we have both realized that the CAN vs. ennis means squat.

Not you, nor anyone else (except the commish) will EVER shut me down. I just got tired of arguing the same points over and over and over and over and over.

You two guys can keep looking forward to week 10. I'll keep looking forward to week 0.

Thats a noble statement. I wasn't expecting that. Actually looking forward to non-playoff game. I was starting to get the impression that these regular season games were bothersome, annoying, and trival. Given that you guys are having a hard time finding teams to which Ennis can measure their success.

I just had to hand it to sendero95 that can’t find the rest of the team line is so appropriate. Kind of makes me think of the poor black and blue buddies that only have three posters.

I know after seeing 9 pages of Side A taking cheap shots at Side B, I'm seriously considering locking this thread. Keep the flaming and the childish comments to a minimum, please.

Also keep in mind that this thread isn't titled "The arrogance of Ennis and the immovable pride of Corsicana."

After reading this entire thread, I can safely say that if this is the representation of Corsicana's fanbase, you are no better than what you claim we (Ennis) are.

I can also say that the seemingly condesending(sp?) comments made by the Ennis people are also uncalled for.

In short, let's keep it civil. That is all, carry on.

LOL Oh I bet you did get it, You got a lot of nerve being so stubborn on your entry into the world especially on game day!!! Considering what a football fanatic you are I'm sure you can relate. Just curious did you ever wonder who that game was with in 57' and who won?

G man No reason to lock it, Seems most everyone has worked things out. BigSexy cleared up the missunderstanding with 76' I thought that it might have been a missunderstanding on his part, I just couldn't see BigSexy meaning to say those things. Anyway as I have briefely met sendora and have had cocktails with BigSexy which btw were very nice, I've just been taking it as friendly banter. I guess without knowing a poster persoanlly it's easy to mistake BS. Plus BigSexy is full of BS!! Overall I think they can play together nicely in the sandbox.
I still have concerns for Ennis92 ;)
