Anyone heard that new Jennifer Lopez song, featuring Fat Joe?

So annoying that it sends me into a rage before I can change the channel. :swear:

Ya...I hate those catchy nicknames like that and A-Rod, C-Web, T-Mac, etc.

Those are almost as irritating as this :swear: song that got me ranting in the first place!

Well, I've never been inclined to give J-Lo the time of day anyway so I'm sure if I ever hear this song I won't even know it. Unless it's played on my classic rock station, hard rock station, christian music station, ESPN 103 or my classic country station I doubt I'll ever hear it anyway.

As I've stated someplace else, I waste too much precious time each day as it is. So I won't be blocking off any of it for J-Lo and those with her.

Anyone heard the new System of a Down song: "B.Y.O.B." I know that band likes to be kind of "out there" but that song makes me want to drive into a ditch on the side of the road going 100mph everytime I hear it on the radio. Down right awful...

"Nu-Metal". At least I think that's what they call it. Bands like System, Korn, Slipknot, etc etc. B@$t@rd offspring of the grunge era. Wasn't there a numetal band called Offspring" too? :gee:

Nirvana came along and ruined music for everybody. One, people actually thought they had talent. Two, they thought Cobain actually had something to day. The only thing Cobain ever said that I understood was when he got on the wrong end of his rifle. To me that clearly said "I'm a wimp and can't handle it".

Soundgarden tried to be a little heavier than Nirvana, but it was still grunge to me. From there I really don't know much because I thought grunge was pure garbage sludge. I do know that a lot of bands from the late 80's and early 90's tried to retune their sound and add grunge to it. I never actually heard it, but supposedly one of the last albums Warrant did went flop because they tried the drop-d tune down grunge thing.

How numetal rose from the grave of grunge I don't know. From what little I care to hear and know I guess they took the grunge sound, mixed in gangsta (which was done with nominal success in the 80's with metal) and turned the heat up a little and here you have it. Nu-Metal. Sounds like Old-Crap to me.

This is just a personal opinion on my part and I hope it doesn't throw fuel on a fire we can't seem to put out here in THSF, but most numetal bands seem to be pretty politically motivated. Especially in election years. 80's metal had thier opinions and feelings, but they seemed more interested in making music and less in politics (except for that period of time with the PMRC, which was started by the wife of a certain senator from Tennessee.........).

I can't stand most modern music. There's very little "metal" coming out that's even worth my time. Few bands from "my day" keep flying the banner. Judas Priest will probably go to the grave grinding and thrashing. Pantera only got heavier each album (and I know what thier early independent releases sounded like). Kiss will probably always be Kiss, but it's better than stuff I've heard. The list could go on. It's just a shame there's not many new bands that just fly the "heavy" banner.

I'm sure there are 50 year olds still missing the Doors and wish somebody would come out like they did, so I understand.

Then there's groups like Metalica who led the charge in the 80's only to get........"Loaded" on something and totally mess everything up. To make it worse, they "Reloaded" and did it again. <_< I find it interesting that on thier album with the SanFran orchestra that the biggest part of the selections they used were from the older catalog. :gee:

******sigh****** Enough history lessons. At least from my jaded POV. :( Bands like System and Slipknot are on the Ozzfest tour and groups like REO Speedwagon, B.O.C. and others are back in small theaters and places like Billy Bobs of Fort Worth.

The J-Lo song bites, but Akon singing his chipmunk smash hit "Lonely" takes the cake for the dumbest chorus in a song EVER.

The only thing I like about J-Lo is her looks and if she is scantilly clad. (The Dress!)

Haven't heard this song yet, Mr. Clean, but it sounds awful and it is probably something worth missing. If she didn't shake her booty in her videos, she wouldn't sell a record. She has just an average voice. IMO

You'll know it if you hear it. It's a cheesy rap/ballad that qualifies as one of the worst songs ever.

I'm sure that Hurricane Warrior loves it, though...bless his heart. <_<

Speaking of bad music, how about Gwen Stefani's new one called "Holla Back Girl." Probably THE most annoying lyrics EVER.
