Whether y'all like it or not, there are more schools in Texas then just the UIL members. You've got TAPPS, the SPC, TCAL, and some other small Christian leagues as well. Plus the defunct TCIL, TISC, and TPSC.

Just because Jesuit joined the UIL doesn't erase our previous 58 years of football history. Jesuit's TCIL title teams may not have been as good as the UIL 5A teams they often played, but Jesuit's enrollment was nowhere near the 5A cutoff until the late 1990's. And we have had 3 undefeated seasons, playing tough UIL 4A/5A competition all 3 times (against much larger schools).

And for the record, Hebron, Jesuit has 20 state championships...how many does Hebron have again? Oh, that's right. None.

This website is not calle "UIL HS Football." Jesuit's past should be recognized, as should those of the over 200 private school football teams in our great state.

I'm pretty sure Dallas Jesuit travelled & played Cincinnati Moeller,Ohio in 1978 & lost 37-7. The score is in error on this board. I remember what a flack the lopsided score caused from an article I read in the Dallas newspaper. The writer was so defensive indicating that many teams in Texas - Plano for one would annilate Moeller. Moeller wouldn't even be able to compete with the 5A teams in Texas. Of course Moeller was a powerful team up until 1982 and definitely would have competed well with anyone.

I am trying to locate the season Football Records of Phillips High School for the football seasons of 1972-73-74 and 75. If available the teams played in district and non district, scores of each game and any playoff information available. I do not know what classification they were in then but I would think either Class B or Class A '

Can you be more specific?
Phillips High School in what City, State?
Is this High School still in existence today?
What was their mascot?

Not to mention that there's no such thing as Class B.

The classifications range from 1A-5A. (also 6-man)

I saw in interesting article on TEXASFOOTBALL.COM -- best Texas teams that have never won a State Championship. Dallas Carter, DeSoto, Dallas Skyline & RR Stony Point were mentioned. One that comes to mind is 1980 Port Arthur Thomas Jefferson (14-1) -- lost to Odessa Permian 28-19 in Texas Stadium. TJ had a really good team that year -- one of Texas's first pass oriented teams; however they seemed to be a "fair weather" team when all was said and done. 3 of their 4 playoff wins were in the cozy Astrodome; the other a 34-7 win against a San Antonio team in Austin in comfortable weather. I believe the cold weather was their downfall against Permian. They led 19-7 at halftime and should have gone up 26-7 in the 3rd quarter but turned the ball over; and also missed a field goal and it was downhill from there. I still remember Permian showing up for pregame warmups in short sleeves. PA Jefferson's theme song throughout the playoffs was "Another one takes the dust." Does anyone remember?

Todd Dodge was their QB. The same Todd Dodge that coached Southlake Carroll to 4 titles in 5 season. He was the first Texas QB to pass for over 3,000 yards in a season. 1980 was his Senior football season. Yes. They did run a variant of the spread offense, though I doubt it was anything like what it has evolved to today.
