I attended, and graduated from, Allen Military Academy in Bryan Texas. Also played football there. During the late 50's/early 60's, AMA was a member of the Texas Preparatory League and usually won the championship. Scholarship players were common (yes, for high school) back then in the private schools. Allen is, unfortunately, no longer military. I am wondering if they are still playing football and, if so, how well they're competing? Anyone have answers for moi?

They now compete in TAPPS, Football Division IV, District 3, against St. Joseph, Brazos Christian, Waco Texas Christian, and Austin Regents School.

You can try a site called, Txprivatesports.com. Go there and scroll down untill you see schools. Click on that and a full page of schools will appear. Allen Academy will be listed under Bryan. But I can tell you living in Bryan that they haven't done well recently. They won state about 10 years ago, but havn't fielded a decent team in a while. Hope this helps you out.
Mike
