Adam James (TE/P) was named to the US Army All-American Bowl yesterday, becoming what I believe to be the first Texas 2A player to receive that honor. He will be among 78 of the top seniors in the nation on Jan. 7 in San Antonio.

Let me be the first to say that there were probably some pretty major politics involved in his selection (Adam is the son of Craig James (SMU, New England, CBS)). But regardless, Adam is a great kid and a good football player and this is a huge honor for 2A football, Celina, and Adam.

Good for Adam!
No need to apologize for the politics, most kids get where they are going with some help and it dosen't hurt that he plays on the No. 1 team in 2A.
Is he a senior?

Yes. Rivals.com lists Tech, Baylor, Ok. State, and SMU as his favorites right now. Until recently, the rumor mill had it more likely that he would play baseball in college but I get the feeling that that has changed,

And I wasn't so much apologizing for the politics angle as I was beating some whiners to the punch. Some around here harbor a little resentment over the attention that he receives. Personally I don't care if he isn't among the top 3-4 players here this year - he is the most likely of this year's seniors to play on Saturday because of his size. He always been a good, polite, hard-working kid and his dad has been no more than a friendly, supportive parent - I am always amazed when I see him walk out of the stadium on Friday night and then see him on CBS 12 hours later.

Anyway, it says something for Texas 2A football when one of their own will represent them on national tv with the best players in the country.

I have a good friend that played ball with his dad at SMU and he says he is a great guy and I'm sure his son is also.
Thanks for the info!
Good luck in the playoffs.

Congrats to young Adam on a great and well deserved honor. Craig James is doing a great job broadcasting in my humble opinion as well. Best of continued success to them both.

People always try to take down those that are doing well. Now if we want to talk about politics lets talk about Chris Sims starting over the confrence offence MVP in Applewhite.... That was the biggest crock, i have ever seen. Congrats James.....

He really has played well this year as has the rest of the team. And you are right.
It is strange to see him walk out of the stadium and then see him on tv. But he
seems like a really nice guy and I have only heard good things about Adam at school.
