did you watch the 2000 and 2001 ennis teams those teams were every bit as good or better than denton ryan, in fact the 2002 team was obliterated after they lost a lot of starters and they beat ryan's most talented team in denton and then lost a heartbreaker to them the same year in the semi finals in a game that ennis dominated most of.i think texas high and stephnville at 2 and 3, are good choices, and you can flip flop them if you want, any other year they would have both been able to compete for the crown. it shows you the talent of this years highland park team. if only we could bring back one of those dominant Denton Ryan teams to play these guys, now that would be an exciting game.

Pretty good list.
I would put Everman ahead of Wylie. They played us a lot tougher. I would also put Frenship in the top ten ahead of Marshall.
Dallas Kimball should probably be no higher than 15.

Ennis had some good teams, and they deserve every bit of credit for them, but those ryan teams just knew how to win in the playoffs and thats what set them apart.

Why wouldn't S'ville be number 2 in your poll? They are the only team who came close to beating ya this year!!!
I wonder what happened to La Marque. I saw them 0 week against Bay City and I thought they looked every bit as good as the hype they were getting. I heard they had a lot of injury problems during the middle part of the season, but I still expected them to make the finals...

Stephenville is a great team. But we really didn't play our best against them. Texarcana was extremally good and we played well the entire game. It really was an unfortunate loss to them. I agree they may be a little bit better than S'ville but not by much. Why wouldn't S'ville be number 2 in your poll? They are the only team who came close to beating ya this year!!!

what? ennis has 3 titles to ryan's 2 recently. And ennis lost to ryan in a game they should have won with a much less talented football team than they had the previous two years. in 2002 ennis played ryan in denton facing ryan's most talented team ever despite the fact that they lost most of their best team in the history of ennis football and they still beat ryan in denton. then in the semi's they dominated ryan for 45 mins. and lost the game giving up an unbelievable on-side kick late in the game. if you really watched the 2000 and 2001 ennis team there would be no question how much better they were than both the 2002 ennis and ryan teams. and let me remind you the 2002 ryan team was their most experienced and best team of all. All you ennis people you remember how scaird you were when ennis played ryan in 02 and they were much more talanted than ennis and ennis showed what was up. Did you watch ennis woody?Ennis had some good teams, and they deserve every bit of credit for them, but those ryan teams just knew how to win in the playoffs and thats what set them apart.

I guess Ryan "forgot" how to win in the play-offs when they went to 5A. They have another high school coming on line up in Denton and the Superintendant is making it very plain that he will make every effort to make sure all three of the Denton schools come in just under the cut-off for 5A. That way they can "remember" how to win in the play-offs. Celina "forgot" how to win state in 3A, now that they are back in 2A, their memory seems to have improved as well. Highland Park turned in 1933 students back in 04 when last they re-aligned and after the cut-off came out as 1925, they rechecked their figures and came up with a total of 1921 students.....having Stafford and being in 4A seems to have done wonders for their memory as well.
Now, that is a bit of sour grapes and I know it, but I still think the schools that deserve the most credit are those like Stephenville and LaMarque and lately Kilgore that compete at a very high level in 4A with student counts of 1000 or 1100 or so.
