The DMN ran a piece of conjecture today that included two semi-interesting things to ponder.

1. Probably 5-5A configuration:

Carroll
Colleyville Heritage
Grapevine
Keller
Keller Central
Richland
Haltom City
Justin Northwest

That is pretty much what I am betting we get. Have you heard anything contrary?

2. The rivalry game with Sloppell probably goes away after this last toasting because "Coppell no longer wants to schedule Carroll as a nondistrict opponent." Now that is just sad.

Burton has:

Justin Northwest
Keller
Keller Central
Haltom
Richland
Carroll
Coppell

Anything?

Slopell, now that's classy. So I guess now Southlake is head and shoulders above ALL their neighbors huh? Maybe ya'll should rename your high school to Terrell Owens Senior High.

I think any school that goes 59-1 in 4 seasons, with 3 state championships and 2 national championships is Head and Shoulders above their neighbors... At least for that time, and untill one of the neighbor schools can bring them down.

Yes, but there is a way to handle that with class. Calling your neighbor names just isn't classy. I'm sure Coppell tries just as hard as SLC does year in and year out to field a competetive football team, but with move ins and such that SLC has they've got themselves a good thing going on. I'm not trying to rob them of that...all I'm saying is that their fans and posters on this board should handle it with class.

Hawgette, take it easy. Carroll and Coppell are rivals -- always have been. I would have thought that Keller or Grapevine would be Carroll's biggest rival, but Coppell is and always was. If you can't have a little fun at the expense of your biggest rival, what is the point?

You need to lighten up. You support a great state champion. Does Trinity have a board?

DMN nailed 5-5A early:

Colleyville Heritage
Grapevine
Haltom City
Justin Northwest
Keller
Keller Central
Richland
Carroll

Good stuff. I am ready for Spring ball and then next season!!!

Sorry, sometimes I get set off easily. I happen to know a few SLC fans personally and all season long they didn't miss a chance to mention how much better SLC was than Trinity. It just got a little old, that's all. I'll go back to my board.

NO, no, stay around. Nice to have somebody to talk to!

Trinity was just a superlative team. Any SLC fan that would not admit to you that we breathed a collective sigh when Ridge beat Ryan is not much of a SLC fan.

I, too, think Caroll would have won had they played this year, but I can assure you it would have been by far and away the most difficult game a Carroll team would have played in the last 4 or 5 years.

Watching those boys run behind that HUMONGOUS offensive line was just beautiful. That is the Texas high school football that I grew up with and appreciate a great deal!

OK, thanks. It's good to know there are others out there who enjoy hs football as much as I do. College and pros just don't really do it for me anymore, although it was nice to see UT take it all this year.

JUST a superlative team huh??? So if we are JUST superlative what does that make you guys? J/K Thanks for the compliment.

The offensive line was specatacular to watch this year, as a unit far and away the best I've ever seen and unfortunately the best I may ever see in hs. Although I hope for as much when I coach.

The more I watched Trinity grind it out, the more fond I became of that style of offense. When I play Madden I usually go for the running quarterback teams and try to mix it up, but when the stakes are a little higher I personally prefer smashmouth ball. I did get to personally see SLC light Katy up and that was a sight to see.

BTW...that thing got a Hemi?
