I heard that Coach Lawrence resigned. Hate to be cold hearted but it needed to happen. Now let's talk about who is going to take his place. As far as I'm concerned there is only one person in Arlington that has the ability to turn the Warrior ship around and make the necessary changes that are going to need to be made----David York. Haven't heard whether or not he will apply but if he does he's the man...believe it!

Well this is good news for Martin...but I do wonder who would be it. Any martin plays browsing the forums like to give some feedback on who they would like to see take it? Or any parents also?

The defensive coordinator at Lamar HS...has been extremely successful for many years.
But to be honest, I am not really sure if he is a head coach type of person. But I really don't know.

I agree with you vike.

Every AISD job that has come open over the last 5 years...Coach York has been rumored to be the shoe in. Then, everytime he is not named head coach. Did he apply for all of them...I don't have that answer.

From what I know to be true, Martin is the only head job that he has had interest in. For retirement purposes, it would be great for him to draw that head coaching salary for at least 3 years. Coach York is an outstanding DC, one of the best around. I would love to see him get it if he applies for it.

Let me ask this, does it help his cause that Mr. Jones' wife is the principal at Martin? I believe York replaced Coach Little as DC at Lamar, does this help? Coach York is definitely next in line...right now...of any AISD assistant coach for a head coaching position within the district.

Should be real interesting.

Great One, I have it on good authority that Coach York has never applied for the other openings, but I do believe that he will for this one. This will be the biggest year in turnover at Lamar if he gets the job, than ever before in the history of the school. Kemp-gone to Bowie, Flowers- rumored to be going to Indiana, York - maybe to Martin, and if he gets it, I wouldn't be surprised to see Stallings go as the OC and Turley go as the DC. Just my opinion though. I also don't think the district will give whoever gets the job as many spots to bring in new coaches as they did with Perry. Perry has already dumped four and rumored to be trying to dump three more. The district has to place all those coaches elsewhere in the district, so I don't see Martin losing to many. On a side note, as anyone noticed that Perry has dumped the offensive coaches and kept the defensive coaches? The defense that gave up 40+ points a game?

Heres my prediction........how about the littlest Peach. He's about as qualified as the last one. I am assuming they have their guy in mind and the applications and interviews are just to appease.

from what i know

david york has no interest in the martin job...he is swallowed up in makin LHS's defense OUTSTANDING next season right now..no one sees him leaving...at least this year

turley is not leaving from what i know...he is also swallowed in the weight training program and defense of LHS also preparing to maybe move to coaching a different defensive position at LAMAR due to coaching losses...

Stallings from what i hear has had HC jobs from MANY school in texas and the oklahoma area but i also do not see him leaving this next season...

those 3 above show no signs of departue just signs of hard work to make next seasons squad outstanding on the offensive and defensive side of the ball..

ps. David York is probably the most memorable coach for myself that i have ever been around him and coach gary bearden or past late in 2005 have made the biggest impact on my life and many others that i know of..
