El Dorado High School opened it's doors in 2003, only having a 9th Grade class for the 03-04 school year. They fielded their first varsity football squad in 2004 made up only of freshmen and sophomores and in 2005 there was a junior class.

For the past 2 seasons El Dorado has been listed as part of UIL District 2-4A but they did not compete in district play and were not eligible to qualify for the playoffs.

2006 will officially be the Aztecs inaugural year competing in UIL District competition as part of the newly realigned 1-5A.

Pretty good going 7-2 (what happened to their 10th game) with only juniors playing a varsity schedule. Now they're jumping straight into 5A? Must be growing like a weed or it's the lack of border control, again.
