AS MUCH AS YOU GUYS DON'T KNOW THERE WAS THIS GUY FROM PORT ARTHUR JEFFERSON NAMED PATRICK RICHARD. WAS A BLUECHIP PLAYER BEHIND THURMAN THOMAS AS A JUNIOR IN 84. HE WOULD HAVE BEEN THE GREATEST. THE GUY HAD OVER 1000 YARDS IN 5 GAMES STARTING AS A JUNIOR AGAINST 22-5A COMPETITION. AND RETURNED 8 PUNT RETURNS FOR TD'S IN 4 OF THOSE GAMES. MOVED UP FROM A JV SQUAD IN 84. HIS SENIOR YEAR IN 85, 1ST GAME OF THE YEAR, FIRST PLAY OF THE GAME BROKE HIS ANKLE. REAL HEARTBREAKER. I'VE BEEN SCOUTING FOR MANY YEARS. THIS WAS THE BEST I EVER SEEN. WOULD HAVE PROBABLY TOPPED EMMITS YARDS.As much as i love the Tyler Rose Earl Campbell.......
I voted Cedric Benson......
Seems like Cedric had the ability more often than not to win a game almost by himself.....
I know that without him Midland Lee would not have one ANY of those State titles in the 90's
I think Earl had a better college career-IMO
But Cedric was a more dominating force in high school.....
