*Reggie Williams - Jr. - WR/S Transfer from St. Jospeh
*Tyshaun Peoples - WR
* Terrence Owens - Soph QB
* Christian Bryant - Freshman QB (Drawing raves already)
Obviously Jermale Hines and Kyle Jefferson are Big Ten guys.
Eric Thomas has a great shot now as well because 1) he has tremendous physical size and 2) he has Ted Ginn pushing for him.
Lebron Daniel is a Big East kid for sure. Outside shot at the Big Ten.
Bruce Davis is headed for the MAC only because of his size but he could also be a West Virginia type kid possibly or Cincinnati. Good football player.
Hassan Crutcher could be a Big East/MAC kid as well.
Merrill picked up some good offers on the tour but I'm not sure if end up in the Big Ten or not. Doesn't have ideal size but is speedy. MAC or Big East for sure.
Mason is a good football player and track performer but he's just too small for anything big. I'm sure a MAC school will take a shot at him.
The key players on the offensive line are all juniors or one sophomore (Hall).
Chaz Jones is a MAC/Big East prospect I would say at a mimimum.
Same thing for Curtis Hale.
Same thing for Haislah.

For all the bullshit that Catholic schools receive, no school that I am aware of anywhere has approached the gall of the Glenville recruiting machine. I call shenanigans.

Every Glenville starter will play college football, and most will play DI. This will undoubtedly last until Ginn retires because the Cleveland Municipal School District and OHSAA will do nothing to stop it. The CMSD enjoys the positive publicity (which overshadows the hemorrhaging of tax dollars) and the OHSAA won't touch a inner city school for fear of being called racist. Most Ohio State fans couldn't care less as long as the studs head to OSU.

If this was Colerain, Warren, Massillon, Ignatius, Canton McKinley, Elder, X, Moeller, Centerville, Solon, Mentor, etc., the OHSAA would put a stop to it.
But Ginn is teflon coated and he knows it. Who wants to be the OHSAA commisioner that tackles the black man just trying to do right for "his" kids.

In a strange twist, 2 kids from Glenville transferred to Harvey as Ginn and the previous coach at Warrensville are pretty clcose. The 2 kids from Glenville were friends with a Glenville player who was killed and the move to Painesville (roughly 30-40 miles east of Glenville) was done for those players safety.

It certainly appears something is going on here. That eing said, would all of those players get the scholarships and the opportunities that go with them at their"local" school? If not, perhaps the Cleveland school district, or whatever it's called, should hire Ginn to train the other coaches how to get their students noticed.

Pied - Mixed Bag...some transfers like Thomas are known by most every school in the country...the lesser known ones seem to benefit the most...
This is bad for OH HS football and the OHSAA wouldn't let any other school in the state except Glenville get away with it.

Some of the well known transfers in the past leave their school because it is significantly easier to get a higher GPA at Glenville (and therefore needing a lower SAT/ACT score) than any suburban or private high school in the area. If you don't assault your teacher, you can get Bs. Because the CMSD is so cash strapped, kids can't even take books home, making homework impossible. With unruly classrooms and little to no homework, how hard is it to get a good GPA at Glenville?

I don't condone recruiting or letting athletes get by. I do admire coaches who do things to benefit their student athletes in the long run. I assume many if not most of these students are in some pretty topugh circumstances and I like to see them have success.
I acn see why no one wants to take him on.

pied I agree with what you implied in the end of your statement:
That Ginn gets his students noticed!

The problem does not reside with Glenville recruiting the problem lies with the school the kid is transferring from. Would a stud transfer to Glenville from Colerain? more than likely no. Bottom line the time spent in high school is short, allow kids to create memories that will last a life time.
In some instances, the "kid" transferring doesn't have the grades to get the schollie, so they'll transfer to Glenville and get a "bump" in their GPA. Ginn will flat out tell kids this.
Recent Glenville grad and incoming Ohio State freshman stud Ray Small was on the verge of being kicked out of St. Edward for poor grades when he transferred to Glenville during his freshman year (prior to getting kicked out, Ginn was noticibly at St. Ed's freshman games). At Glenville, Small finished with between a 3.8-3.25 GPA (depending on the source), at Ed's he barely escaped triple doughnuts. While he certainly have done better at a less stringent school, NFW he gets a 3.25.

Soley based on the info you stated you can either deteremine he was not cut out for the academics at St. Ed's, he was not interested in doing so, or some combination thereof. It can be assumed had he remained there the chances of him getting into tOSU much less a full ride were about zero.
In this case is the kid better off?

If the kid can't cut it at St Ed's , he is sure to fail at OSU .JJ-For a moment I am going to play devil's advocate and take this above the normal what's right and wrong for the HS football fan.

Not certain I agree with that. Of course I am going to give credit to St. Ed's, but I don't think they can match the individual attention that big schools like tOSU and others will provide. The tutors, learning labs are all first rate at most of these schools.
I also think that the schools' main intent is to keep them eligible, the rest is up to the student athlete. A good private school can have much higher standards.
