I was watching the All Star game last night and they showed a Seguin player and they had a caption that the person he most admired was his coach Margene Simmons. I have to think it's the same guy. Any insight? Does anyone know? I looked on the Segui website and didn't find him.

That's cool. I always wondered what happened to the guy. He had D-1 talent but I don't think his grades were that good. He was a monster on the field...most intimidating guy Lamar has had. He was a lot like Jesse Armstead in size and speed.

I knew his brother Demetrius also.

Could of been a Pee-Wee coach for the kid???

Sorry, I meant to type that I did NOT find him on the Seguin website.

He was a MONSTER. He was recruited by several schools and committed to Arizona State I believe. I know he went JUCO. I sa him his freshaman year witha huge cast on an arm and he said he put it through a window at a party. Don't know if he made it back from that.

It has to be him though, too many coincidences.

I am friends with Gene, and he was at Seguin for a few years, but is no longer there. I don't have permission to speak for him, but I do know that he played at JuCo for a while and had some off the issues, but turned himself around and is a really good man/coach/teacher that I am proud to call a friend.

how old is old pied? Old enough to have seen him play, or old enough to have played with him, because I played with him at Lamar in 89-90....

I went to Cisco Jr. College with Margene. He was an absolute beast on the field. They called me Big C, we were real cool with each other.
