Hey all you 6-2A Fans! Why move to another message board to talk Basketball? If the Administrator catches on to what we're doing, we can start using 'code' words. Since District play starts in about 2 weeks, I just thought we could stay here and visit. Any takers?

Yep. But don't know much yet, except Ballinger and JN should be the favorites.
Those two teams have excellent programs and coaches. Coleman,Early, bangs should be in the middle.I think those 3 have new coaches this year. Wall and GC have been good in other districts, but don't know yet.SS has 2 good players, but doubt will be a factor. Will say, very impressed with new Coach from Coleman. And there are new gyms at SS and Coleman. Let's try to move to the BB section.

Sorry, but I'm just not ready to move on yet...

I think you're right about JimNed, a lot of quickness and good shooters. I'm not sure about Ballinger, I know they're not going to have the height they had last year. Bangs has a new coach, and maybe Coleman if you say so, but Early's Coach is the same. Wall and GC have had success in their previous Districts and I expect will compete well. (Although, there is a lot of turmoil in the GC Coaching Staff, I've heard.) San Saba will be better than they've been in several years. Early graduated a lot of team leadership, but have some size. The picture of the Bangs team that was in the paper the other day looked like a lot of different guys than I've seen in the last few years, but maybe it's my eyes. At any rate, I guess everyone starts District play in late December so it's gonna go by fast. I think most teams in the District have the capability of beating most teams in this District, so, I think it's gonna be very, very, very exciting. Not to mention the Girls! There's going to be some great 2-game sets in our District this year.

yeah, thats what we're workin for now that we sucked it up on the gridiron. but the basketball guys on the other hand are sounding half way decent. jared jones is playin, and if he can get some aggresiveness about him he will be tough, i mean he's 6'7 and can throw it down with no effort. we've got some quickness in the guards with brown and lee and henderson, and we've got a good shooter if he gets goin in james. its a new offense but the players seem to like it, so when they get it down i think we'll be ok. maybe we can beat jim ned once before i graduate.....

Where are all you fellow 6-2Aers playing this weekend?

Early is at Hamilton, but no one else from our District is in that one.

well.. from playing in the district last year..
ballinger should have a good team.. lost wes and logan so.. thats 3/4 of there points there but they still have the out side shooter in buxcemper or how ever you spell it..

Jim Ned will have a solid team don't know much about them except they lost that davis kid last year..

Coleman .. idk much abou them except they lost a really good out side shooter .. that carlton brown..

Wall.. don't know much abou them..

San Saba... will be san saba

grape creek.. i have no clue

bangs.. only lost 3 sr. Me Hall and Anthony.. so they should be good 6'7 post playin this year has to find his game.. for the back court i don't see a another faster or quicker back court in Lee and Brown... they will be there go two guys...

Early.. still has eric.. but lost outstanding wing due to graduation.. i forget his name

Jim Ned
Bangs
Early
Coleman
Wall
San Saba
Grape Creek

idk much about the teams but those are my picks..

ballinger still has a good team. only lost 3 players, but 2 were 6'5. beat jim ned by double digits last friday at our tourney. burrgess is averaging about 20 points a game.and jayton buxkemper is startin to get his shot back, had 4 or 5 threes against j.n.

:coolhat: Carlton Brown a good outside shooter..............you got to have been smokin something really bad. Carlton was fast, good jumper and hustled his butt off but he was not a good shooter from anywhere on the court!

:coolhat: Just came from Coleman/Brady BB game..............man it was ugly. You would think these boys could do alot better after 2 hours of practice. B) Just kidding......they looked like a team who just finished football. Could not make a basket and no touch at all.

Is the Balfour kid playing this year for Bangs or did he graduate?
