Looks like Texas is not alone in trying to keep players in state, so much talent, not enough positions. Hopefully they got to keep some good ones.

Congrats to all the young men moving on to the next level. Hope they all work hard, don't blow the opportunity that's been handed to them, and they do well not only in sports, but in life.

What does Rivals know.....They had Bo Williams as the 19th best RB in the country and he was only #3 in his county and not even Top 20 in the state of Florida ...Rivals is a joke..And I dont care that Florida recruited him...he will never see the field.....we played against him, he was 27 carries for 43 yds and 0 TD's

If you want to start up with the excuses, first point to your pathetic, pathetic, PATHETIC public school systems in Dade, Broward, and PBC. If all of that talent would qualify then the number of D1 schools wouldn't be an issue.

There's no shortage of OOS schools swooping in and picking up the leftovers in Texas, Florida, and California. If you're a D1 athlete in one of those three states and you have the grades, you can be a D1 football player, in-state or out.

When it all boils down. Florida wins the battle. Becasue when you break it down. Florida And Georgia Shell out more Players Per million people in the state then anyother state around

1. Florida-9.3
2. Georgia-8.9
3. Texas-7.4
4.Ohio-5.6
5. California-5.5

Meaning you have wayyyyy more people in your state then florida has. Yet we shell close to and average higher then texas and almost twice the amount of california and ohio.

Obviously. The Canes recruit there a lot. There are a lot of great athletes in Texas. But you'd be crazy to think that having 3 more state schools doesn't inflate the numbers.

Actually I don't think the public schools have much to do with it. Those kids go to JUCO and they end up in D1 anyway. Also, Dade and Broward are among the 6 largest school boards in America. Add to the fact that Miami is one of the poorest (and at the same time richest) cities in this country.

My point is that there are quite a few kids at SMU, Rice maybe UTEP that wouldn't be on D1 scholarships without those schools.

Wow, ya'll have some problems.

First off, congratulations to those guys that got scholarships. As someone said, I hope no of them blow the great opportunities that have been handed to them. Go to class, get a DEGREE, and have some fun playing with the pigskin along the way!!!

Now, I move on to the next part of this post...and I say this with all seriousness. I motion that we delete the National HS Football Board due to a large abundance of worthless debate, and a lack of any intelligent conversation or discussion about football. It is a waste of bandwidth. I would hate for people to not be able to get on here because some people make this website exceed the bandwidth limit with worthless discussions such as this one.

Wow, ya'll have some problems.

First off, congratulations to those guys that got scholarships. As someone said, I hope no of them blow the great opportunities that have been handed to them. Go to class, get a DEGREE, and have some fun playing with the pigskin along the way!!!

I didn't make a big deal out of nothing, you took off on comments I made which in reality means you made a big deal out of it. Thank you for your time, good day.

My point is that there are quite a few kids at SMU, Rice maybe UTEP that wouldn't be on D1 scholarships without those schools.

Here are some numbers:

First, I count 11 D1 schools in TX and 6 in FL.

The TX schools signed 260 players, 79% of which were from TX.

The FL schools signed 153 players, 69% of wwhich were from FL.

Which state get picked over more? The elite prospects stayed at home much more in FL.

Only two of the top ten players in FL signed OOS. That could change w/Devine.

Five of the top ten are headed out of the Lone Star State.

Expanded to the top 100, 56/100 from FL are headed out compared to 49/100 from TX. Not that big of a difference.

In addition, two players are headed to FL to play from TX(both to Miami) and no players form FL are headed the other way.

It's amazing how people are. I created the thread to show where the class of 07 from Florida is heading and give kids that have worked not only on the field but in the classroom some recognition, and maybe let you know who some of the kids are heading to your favorite college....and what do yall do?....turn it into another "My states better then your state debate".....Some people will never grow up.
