The Spurs are the champions once again, but all I hear is they are a small market team and no one cares that they won. Well I care :coolthumb: that they won and the rest of the country should see the Spurs as a team that is marketed as a TEAM, and it is not made up of one star player that is selfish and only cares about himself and the attention he gets.

Hey I like the TEAM concept that the Spurs have and more TEAMS should be that way. If the rest of the country does not see that oh well 4 NBA titles should tell them something LOL.

That's not what people have said. In fact, that is about the opposite of what I have heard.

I am not a Spurs fan, I'm a Mavs fan, but, I am glad the Spurs won.

But, the television ratings certaintly support the small market argument though...

You are correct but it just burns me to hear the media jump on the band wagon after they won it. Heck even when they were up 3-0 the media was saying the LeBron could bring them back. Oh well your right they are the champs once again and I am loving it!!!

That was the ABC announcers/analysts trying to keep people tuned in to watch. The Spurs are not flashy and their best player is simply, IMO, the best player in the game. He just doesn't care about being flashy and he is kind of a quiet, easy going guy. Nothing wrong with that, just hard to market for TV. The Spurs just win and in my opinion are putting together quite a run that will be remembered as one of the great NBA dynasties when all is said and done, especially if they go back to back.

that was well put. I don't think the spurs are disrespected by any means. I live in arizona. I'll tell you...... all people usually talk about here is either mavs or spurs........like a phobia. This year it was the mavs, last year it was the spurs, next year it will be the spurs again. If you go back to this past season....yes i thought it was off target for the media to promote only phoenix and dallas. I felt like the spurs were much closer to winning a title the past year than phoenix ever has been. and people somehow forgot that........especially these suns fans. The spurs did have a rough stretch so maybe that had something to do with it. In the second half the national media talked more about the spurs. The local phoenix media just didn't acknowledge them at all. It was all about dallas. As far as excitement........the cavs/spurs finals matchup was a failure. No fault of the spurs. That's just the way it goes sometimes.

I live in Texas and they still did not make a big deal out of it, because Dallas was not in it. I guess I am just upset because I am a Spurs fan, and I wished the entire state (TX) was behind them sorry.

well there are 3 teams in texas and they don't like each other too much. I don't think you are going to get many mavs fans or media rooting for the spurs or vice versa. Now i am a mavs fan.......but i got a lot of respect for the spurs. I'm very happy that they beat phoenix.

I live in the Houston area and support the Rockets, but once they were eliminated, I rooted for the Spurs to win it all. Last year I rooted for the Mavs in the finals. I like to see all the Texas teams do well.
