Well lete me repond to the guy who went on about ECA being down. Guess what....DLS was down too....are they allowed? Is that possible to be down and still be undefeated and number 1 in the nation? Yes. when your defense gives up nothing. Did you know DLS running backs average over 10 yards a carry every year? This year that average, due to injuries, was down to 6.5 yards a carry. Still, they never lose.
DLS played with a back up quarterback(future D1 QB and DLS starter tore his acl in the second quarter), a tight end who rushed for 100 yards in his third game ever at running back because their starting half back, on his way to Oregon with his 4.3 speed, was out for the season. DLS had three of their 4 dbs out with injury, and their all american wide out Cameron Colvin was in just his second game of the year after missing his first 5 games. Not an excuse, the defense dominated and the Oline was brilliant. There's not a line in the country, that Ive seen, that can compete on that level. That includes some colleges. You guys want to look at the typical stuff to impress you forget it. They have studs at the skill positions but their "streak" exists because of the line of scrimmage and the coach who creates that explosion and execution. Face it, DLS has done what nobody has ever done before because there has never been anything like them before.
I can honeslty say I was disappointed with the ECA game simply because DLS lacked the explosive big plays they are accustomed to. The injuries made them a grind it out team lacking their normal speed at the skill positions. But the fundamentals carried the day. Besides, the point of De La Salles greatness is not that they are absolutely the best team every year, we'll never know that for sure, but kids, they never ever lose. They never have a bad game, they always respond under adversity, and they are at the top every single year while other programs, both public and private, come and go. DLS is a constant. Thats the point here. They are the best program in the country.
