OK, so the question is, what made '99 different than 2000-2003?

51 more consecutive wins for one thing ...

So, DLS is better this year than last year. Better last year, than 2002? Better in '99 than in, say '95?

Maybe, maybe not. Hard to say for sure. I think their 2001 team was a pretty good match for their 1999 team. Maybe even better.

But I think we have just come to appreciate just how good the program is over the past few years. The initial question marks about DLS's talent, schedule strength, etc. have been alayed in my mind since then.

Im resurrecting this thread for a question...

To the commish-

Can we create a "Hall of Fame thread" forum up at the top of this national board.
This thread is what started the national board and carried it through its infancy. I was thinking when we have a great thread going, it should be retired to a place where it can be easily accessed and viewed. This thread definitly belongs there.

On an otherwise slow day just thought Id put that out there....

I'd like for the DLS coach to schedule any of the following teams for next year:

  • Lufkin
  • Tyler Lee
  • John Tyler
  • Longview
  • Galena Park North Shore
  • Southlake Carroll
  • Ennis
  • Waco
  • Temple
  • Any 4A or 5A state champ from last year
Until then, they don't cut it with me.

Waco?

Where is Arl. Lamar, Trinity, Dallas Carter etc.... Lamar did beat Temple, and soundly too( 17 points). No offense meant, but why those teams?

I would not have a list of about 10 schools DLS should play, cause there are probably 50+ schools in Texas that could beat DLS.

very funny,50 schools from texas.

I definately agree it is HOF material, but I think it should be part of the "regular" HOF (here). Overall, it is a Texas Board that host the National Board. People have finally started to drift to other parts of the board, so perhaps we could pin a thread that explains how to find the HOF.

Sounds good B. I just dont think this thread should just fade off the board eventually. This one in particular is responsible for their even being a national board.

I concur going to the HOF board on this site is fine. As long as it goes somewhere. This will be great reference material for some arguments down the road as well.

Lets see what the commish or someone with those capabilities does.
