The Childress JV is doing great. We are 4-0, about to start disctrict with the game opener against Floydada. Our schedule has had about three hard games [two 3A (Iowa Park and Perryton) teams and one good team(Muleshoe).] We are open this week.

26-4A Steele Knights are also doing very well with a 4-1 record...only losing to N.B. Canyon last week without our starting QB. Although, we have too many juniors on our J.V. in my opinion. Some play varsity at times and then bounce back down the following week. These players need to push themselves to stay at the Varsity and ensure the sophomores get the playing time they need.

Next week, Steele v Clemens...brother v brother

Huntsville JV's are doing OK. Most of the stud soph's are on varsity and the rest are on JV A team which is 4-1. There only loss was to College Park 7-6, in a tough defensive game. That is most of these boys first loss since 8th grade and only their 3rd loss since 7th.

The Frenship JV (blue team) is doing ok we were playing well but we were beaten by Abilene Wylie last week dropping our record to 3-2. Our JV team has alot of Juniors on it so we are playing two JV teams. Some of the Juniors are very talented and could play on the Varsity, but that is my opinion and we all know what that is like. I was told early this week we lost one of the starting guards he is out with a torn ACL he suffered against a very good Wylie team. I have seen the kid play and he has alot of talent, but did not get a chance to show it at the next level. He will have to wait unitl next year and try to come back from his injury. We also had a Linebacker that was banged up that may not play this week. I was told he hurt his shoulder and pulled something. He is also another one of those very talented Juniors.

Overall I guess it is going ok we have Clovis coming into town this Thursday and I think the boys will bounce back and play well.

Cove's JV is 5-0. They even beat Euless Trinity's JV.
Last year's JV went undefeated and rolled over most opponents.
Things will be good for a few more years in Copperas Cove.

Celina pretty much always has a great team every year. I've watched their varsity play one time a couple of years ago when they played Childress in the semis. Celina played a heck of a game.

I would like to ask the question " Does your JV team get as much coaching as it should"? are they farming tallent for next years and beyond? The coaching staff in Wylie sure is NOT they could care less about the JV teams which has most parents confused about how they expect to keep some of he better kids caring about the game at all.

At Cibolo Steele they do a great job...give the boys a lot of training and even bring them across the grass at times to run scout defense for the varsity. Some of the better sophomores are bounced back and forth between JV and varsity, playing some on varsity during weeks when the coach believes opponents will not be too strong.

Overall score: A-

Are you guys from Texas or an out of state team? Never heard of you. But great hearing from you anyhoot!

Cute little name for your town.

Your goal now: Find the sarcasm and total dismissal of your team in my post.

I have to agree with Bid Al, that is a cute name. How does a town get a name like that anyway? Do they provide comfort for the other teams that come there to play them? Do they give away gift baskets at the gate? Just curious.

Here in prison city they work with the JV alot. The Jv defense plays the varsity offense and the Jv offense plays the varsity defense every Tues. and Wed. We have a lot of players on Jv that would be on the varsity squad if it was not for several Sr.'s that suit up to watch the game from the sideline.
