Go read some of these recent articles from Coach Jack Welsh about their Aledo game and the stadium situation. They do not want to face LC. I think, like last year, they thought they'd be playing a different team. They thought last year they would get LC and they got Heights. They thought this year they would get NB and they got LC. He seems like a coach who looks ahead. I know he had to have been looking ahead to have had the close game with Aledo. I'm sorry I didn't link to the article-- but direct quote is below. Sounds like he knows what's coming-- can't stop the inevitable.

“Their running back is a great running back,” said Copperas Cove head coach Jack Welch, joking that he might have to “bring out the National Guard come out and help” to shut him down completely.

Out of whack stat- Opponents have rushed for 999 yards on the Bulldawgs in their four playoff games

I say at the end of the game they will have given up 1300 yards through the playoffs. How embarassing for a state semifinalist. The defense for LC while still giving up a lot of rushing yards has given up about 600 yards on the ground-- that's still 400 less than Cove. Get the towels ready, if you think it hurts to lose in the state championship once-- think about twice.

Wasn't it just 2-3 years ago that LC only won two games? Cove's history in football over the last 15 years is more impressive than LC's.

Yes and it was about 4 years ago that Coach Wilson was hired. So you can say these kids that are playing now are totally his along with his coaching staffs creations. His first couple of years they won 2-3 games but since then he has went undefeated in the regular season except for the 2 losses this year to 2 big 5A schools. Not to mention his team was broken at the time. Since those players returned the whole team jumped to another level and havent loss since. Coves history hasnt been that impressive. I was stationed there in all of the 90's, Cove just started getting past the first round. That district is not that powerful, look at the Rivals power ratings. Since everybody started moving out of Killeen to CC that is what brought that program up. You can't comment on something you know nothing of. I've lived in both, so I know.

yeah right killeen kids didn't move to cove only kids from that area was Fort hood(military) and which many weren't even on the varstiy football team so what does that matter????

Everyone comments on things they know nothing about. Someone said LC's history is better than Cove. I said look at the last fifteen years. That can be done on this website. It has records and scores for every team for evey game played since 1990. Cove has been in the playoffs more and with more playoff wins. It's fifteen year history, which is what I said, is more impressive.

If it's Cove you can rest assured these rookie posters that have not been on this board until this week will be gone with their heads between their legs. If LC wins then several of you Cove posters will do the same leaving only the regular Cove fans that have been here all year to take your licks for you.

I don't like to point people out but LC98 is doing just what he intended to do and make fans look silly on both sides. He posts a bunch of useless crap and fans get on there trying to defend their team over something that everyone knows is BS. But it works and makes Cove fans look very silly when they post silly responses that cause an argument. There are many people that read this stuff and never reply so put yourself in their shoes as non posters but readers and fans and think what they think about the fan base??????

I for one do not like to look like a DA or feel degraded because of the team i support.

I am willing to say now that if LC loses today you will not be back on these boards cause you will have shamed yourself and the rest of the LC fans that know who you are. You have done what you set out to do and that is to get someof the Cove fans to argue among themselves and look silly. You get the win on that catagory.

I would be willing to bet there are not as many fans in LC as cocky as you are and if you win then you can be all you can be. (I am sure you will be an even bigger ---- than you already are on these boards and you will have bragging power.) I support my team regardless of a win or loss. I critisize and put my two cents in on what i see good or bad from our games. I have been a fan of the DAWGS longer than you have probably been on this earth. We have been where you have been a lot longer than you have been there. Losing and winning. It takes a bigger man to walk away after a loss and redeam himself and move on then it does a man to boast and beat his chest over his accomplishments. Others will do that for you, kind of like what you are doing for LC except you make the other fans look bad with your comments and motives.

I am not trying to incite you or the Cove fans that are arguing over nothing. The game will be settled in a few hours and there will be a new state champion. Its a 50/50 chance right now. YOU have no impact on the game except to tarnish the LC image with your craziness.

IF LC wins then congrats to them. They deserve it and worked hard for it. IF COVe wins the same thing. I think my DAWGS can do it but what i say here will not affect how this game is played. It only reflects on the people that get on hear and then talk to others about comments made by those that do not play the game.

He is 5'7" 185, and they present the same problem Waco presented to Cove, speed, great defense and a power-I running game. The difference is that Lamar has a very effective passing game, when pressed to use it and they will line up in 3-4 WR spread at times. FEAR THE TITE TOSS! Go Stangs!

Cove's defense wasn't as good as LBJ or NB's! 31 for 240 and 3TDs, including 31 and 87 yarders. You also let QB kill you. Back to 5A and 14-5A in round one!

Cove will do fine in 5-A. Remember 2005 when we blew out your district champs Leander and went to the Regional Finals?
