I think cove will have a hard time containing LC's running back. He is 5'6" 180 and really quick. Cove really has to stiffen up the pass coverage, against aledo they were 15 yards off when they could of been pressing. Aledo wasn't going to try and throw into that wind.

In the 2nd half, Cove wanted to make Loftin beat them with the pass. It didn't happen.

I'm sure we'll manage to come up with a gameplan one more time.

So the game is 7 pm for sure?? What a game tonight. A great turn out for Cove....That QB was fast and elusive. He didn't want to go down. Aledo had a great ball club!!

Cove needs to give #28 more chances to run the ball. I have seen all of Cove's playoff games and am not that impressed with Vital. Unless he has a hole the size of the grand canyon he will get stuffed, they need to put Byrd in on the short yardage situations, seems like he is alot better at getting those 2 or 3 yards because he is ALOT quicker then Vital.

and yes, I am saying this after a 300+ yard game.

But really I wish Cove would run to the outside more, did they run the option once against Aledo?

Once? Yes. More than once, I don't remember, but there was at least one option play I remember. Griffin tossed it fairly early because two defenders were running at him and Vital picked up about 10 yards on the play if I remember right.

Lamar doesn't pass. It's a one man show. Running Back and thats it. Oh, and he is good, I believe committed to Oregon State. Watch out for Him.

I also only remember once.

As to those who think we will lose because the other RB holds some state record...maybe so. Of course, our QB holds some track state records.

Truly, throw all that out the window. Rogers has never scored a single TD against Copperas Cove, and Griffin has never run a single yard against Lamar. This game is going to come down to which team wants it the most Saturday night.

Cove will come in with a game plan just like they have every week this year. Will we win? It depends but we will know one week from today who is the state champion. I BELIEVE the DAWGS can do it and will get the job done. Alll the state records and other stuff does not matter in this game. The only thing is winning this football game.

There will be lots of talent on the field and only one winner.

GO DAWGS!!!

I think this is going to be Cove's year. Round Rock Stadium is home turf for Cove all the way. Last year Alamo Heights got to play on their home turf--now it's our turn. Lamar beat New Braunfels, and I *did not* want to face New Braunfels. It's gonna be a packed stadium!

sure was great to hear the Copperas Cove Band playing last night. they played loud and long..... were instrumental in getting the fans hyped up and on their feet....... hope they do the same next week in Round Rock....

i am sure our players appreciated the hysteria which was generated..........

He is 5'7" 185, and they present the same problem Waco presented to Cove, speed, great defense and a power-I running game. The difference is that Lamar has a very effective passing game, when pressed to use it and they will line up in 3-4 WR spread at times. FEAR THE TITE TOSS! Go Stangs!

They might want to rethink Round Rock ISD. It can only hold 11,000. The SA paper said that Lamar and New B had about 13,500. San Marcos would work because you know Cove travels well. :gee:

I have to agree, I just dont understand why they would agree on a venue that may not have enough room for everyone that may want to attend the game. Texas State would be more than enough room for all that would want to see the game.

It will definetely be a packed house. We will probably be there when the gates open.

I don't even think Texas state would be enough, it only seats 15000 and the crowd will be pushing that. Remember how many were at the state championship last year?

Because they have rarely, if ever let HS teams play there. They especially won't this year because they have major construction going on and I bet it's a big mess right now.
