My rant on country music

When a country artist wishes to compose a song they always choose from one of these 5 topics:
1. Beer
2. Trucks
3. Trucks and bars
4. Women, trucks and bars
5. Getting dumped, trucks, and beer
There is no point in it. My golf coach loves country music, I have to listen to it every day in class and every time we go on a tourney trip...I talk as loud as I can and listen to my CD player as much as possible to keep from going insane.
To make all this worse...the accents and lack of musical talent. The worst one about it is Willy Nelson. He is the most musically illiterate person I have ever heard. He cant sing, or write music, and HE SURE AS HECK CANT WRITE LYRICS! What is up with "Whiskey for my men and beer for my horses"???...If you gave a horse beer it would die or get sick or something to that nature.
You've gotta be drunk to like, write, or listen to coutry music.
And that is my rant on country music. :rant2:

but i luv charlie daniels though...........
CMT Top 8....
Toby Keith
"Whiskey Girl" NOT
Keith Urban
"You'll Think of Me"
Kenny Chesney and Uncle Kracker
"When the Sun Goes Down" NOT
Shania Twain
"It Only Hurts When I'm Breathing"
Reba McEntire
"Somebody" NOT
Kenny Chesney
"Live Those Songs-Live" NOT

I am not a big fan of ANY kind of music that is slow.... I listen to a lot of different types of music... to say that ALL Country is sad is like saying ALL of any other kind of music is about drugs or killing people....
Generalizing is never good...

I like a handful of modern country songs like anything Charlie Daniels does and a few hear and there (I consider the CDB more southern rock than country
I'm a big fan of Hank Sr and Johnny Cash.
Beyond that, I think Coyote has a pretty legit gripe about C&W.

I like 92.1 for the most part.Try listening to 95.9 It is not just country or rock. It is Texan.
Unless they've finally moved, I know were 95.9 was broadcasting from here in Weatheford. They used to irk me and my wife a little. They used to do all this big talk and advertising about how they were the "newest station in Fort Worth". I would hear that and go, "no, you're the newest station in Weatherford down on Santa Fe across from Texas Bank and down the road from the college."
When they started this "newest in Fort Worth" promo, they were in the process of moving to Fort Worth, so they might be there by now, but for the longest time, they were still broadcasting from the middle of Parker County, not Tarrant.

Coyote it's true that country music does now and historically has been slanted towards gut wrenching, home breaking ballads. I didn't grow up with it, but I have grown to like some of it. Songs like:What the heck is the point behind any country song?

Front Porch looking in -Lonestar
Walking in Memphis- Lonestar
The Angry American-Toby Keith
Wanna Talk about me-Toby keith
How Do you Like me now-Toby keith
God Bless Texas- Little Texas
Amarillo By Morning-George Strait
and some songs by Rascal Flatts, Faith Hill, etc,
I don't like the "crying about rain", etc, but I feel most of the performers are a little closer to real people (ie.you and me) than most of the hip hop or dance stuff that plasters the airwaves these days.

NOquestion ????????
if country music makes ME SAD, key word is ME,, then theres a flaw in my logic??
now where is the logic in that??????????????????????????
Your logic was flawed in the line "ALL the songs have a sad story"
I showed you several that did not....
Proving your theory that ALL Country Songs are sad.... invalid.

that i have heard were sad, key word being MOST,,,, also i do not listen on a
daily basis, which may hinder my opportunity to hear the not-sad songs,,,
so again MOST of the songs THAT I have heard made me sad,,,,,,
hopefully that will bring this to an end...........
