Spurs blowout the Lakers in San Antonio. Lakers lead series 2-1.

After watching last night, I felt that repulsive twinge from the other series this playoffs hit....I REALLY hope this doesn't turn into a home-winning series again....BORING.

Lakers win series last night 4-1.

Except for a minor hiccup by LA, this should have been a 4-0 sweep.

LA fans should be thanking the refs for this one . Bias officiating allowed the Lakers to get back into game 1 and 5 and prevented the Spurs from having foul shots at the end of game 4 or calling Kobe for traveling on the Lakers last possesion in game 4. Yes the Spurs did go cold in games 1 and 4 , but a lot of that had to do with getting fouled every time they drove the lane.Parker and Duncan were getting mauled. They would not even call a foul last night when the Spurs were trving to intentionally foul Kobe to stop the clock last night.I have no problem with getting beat fairly, but that was not the case here. The league's favoritisim for the Lakers really shined through in this series. The Spurs easily could have been up 3-1 after 4 games and going back to SA 3-2 for game 6. But the League had decided from the git go SA was gonna lose so they could get that LA /Boston finals. Thanks for nothing refs.I am just sick with the NBA right now

I think the refs in general have been bad in the whole NBA...but I won't say they gave this series to LA at all. Lakers took this series cause they are the faster, more athletic team right now. The infamous "no call" the other night, yeah, I agree and the NBA and referees agree they blew that one. But that one call didn't lose this series for the Spurs.
Take a closer look at Ginobli's piss poor performance in most of the series. Take a look at Duncan scoring well below his average. Take a look at their ages. Take a look at guys like Horry, Finley, and Bowen not being able to do jacksquat. The Spurs demise this series was far more due to the team itself than blaming it on the zebras.

No conspiracy theory in my mind; they just got outschooled this year on the court.

Also, if the Spurs were just that damn good this year, then NO would not have crushed them in 3 home games in NO they way they did.

Anyway, I just hope either Detroit or Boston takes out LA...not a big Kobe fan by any means here.

Well I agree with you about Ginobli, Horry , and Finley. Still even with their terrible performances ,with the exception of game 2 the games were close enough for the no calls inside to matter.Duncan and Parker had been getting hacked any time they tried to do anything in the lane or inside at all and the refs did not call it .Yet the other side the Lakers could push off anytime they felt like it and not get called. The officiating was completely one sided in favor of LA. It seemed to be OK with the refs for the Lakers to do this and that is what ticks me off so much. It's hard enough to beat the Lakers , and it is a task made impossible by even the slightest officiating favoritisim. This definately had a negative impact especially for Parker's game. I thought Duncan played well all series , and I thought Bowen played as good of defense as you can play on Kobe , it was when he went to the bench and Udoka came on that Kobe did most of his damage.Barry played better than he has since he signed with the Spurs. ANd for the Lakers I thought Fisher and Gasol played well( It's a given that Kobe played well). But the way Odom was playing he should have fouled out by half time. Same thing with Voulvacech(spelling). He was grabbing , slapping arms , and so fourth so much that he should have fouled out in every game , even though he is a bench player

Assume for one second that the no call gets called and Barry hits all three free throws, giving the Spurs a victory. The series would be tied 2-2 and the Spurs would still very much in it. The no-call changed all of that. It may not have lost the series for the series for them , but it was the difference in the Spurs still being in it or not.

And yes , NO did crush them in three home games , but they could not close them out at home in game 7, nor could they win any of the games in SA or take advantage of being up 0-2. That's why the Spurs were playing for the West title and not the Hornets.Still I am going to go out on a limb here and say I was more impressed with NO than I was with the Lakers. The Hornet's time to shine is coming.

And I am with you , I hope Boston donkey stomps LA.

I think had they called that foul on Barry, they would have just given him 2 shots on a no-shooting foul call. At best it would have tied the game to send to overtime.

And I am going to disagree again on the referees in one aspect. I watched this game with neutral eyes because I don't care for either team...and the refs weren't one-sided at all. They were equally bad for both teams.

I just disagree with you Russ. I think the foul very well could have been a shooting foul depending on how the ref interpreted it . Of course this is not a non-issue at all since the refs intrepreted it not to be a foul at all. Either way I would have been happy . Barry is money from the free throw line. Just blow the whistle , that's all I am saying. Damn all of thet" we didn't want to end the game that way" crap
