Ya know, I have seen some real bashing on this site...and not on this rant board....actually in the widely used forums all over.

Now I made a comment that was actually posted in reverse, and I got called out on this via an email from one of the moderators.

What I wrote was no more, and most likely less, offensive than some of the other ******* I've seen on this forum as a whole.

I'm inclined to wonder now at the favoratism (sp) that's being given to a certain few.

Enough said.

Actually I think it is a good place to post commentaries on sports.

I don't have a problem with moderators for forums...but if one is going to call you out on something, I think they had better back that action up with a full clean up of the whole site. Consistency is 100% lacking when it comes to 'forum discipline' on this site.

Now I have to wonder if the posts on the RANT BOARD are also going to be policed with such action.

Guess I'll find out if I get banned.

Consistency is lacking ALL OVER this site, not just when it comes to "forum discipline."

I don't have time to respond to this like I would like. I have to go to work in a few minutes.

Let me just point out that I, personally, have seen no actual bashing. I notice when some posts go over the line, I notice when threads have a tendency to get out of hand, and I want to keep everybody in check (there is no favoritism).

Please do continue to post, and if you feel there is some favoritism, then you back that statement up. I don't mind doing this publicly, but I feel it would be more productive if it were done through PMs.

The sole reason we have moderators is to keep peace. If I feel something crosses the line, I will send a PM (note I didn't close the thread) to that poster. This is sort of a way to prevent outright banning of posters.

Sometimes some posters misunderstand other posters. Some posters write a post so it has a double meaning or at least an unclear meaning. These things can lead to a poster or two getting their feelings hurt and then they are unaware that they become too rude in their replies.

We should remember that on this board we have people from all levels of education, political leanings and temperment. Knowing that maybe we should expect some posters to obnoxious to other more experienced posters.

I have been posting here for maybe five years and only once did I retort in a unessesary way. That was to viking4life about 4 years ago after he had been very rude. viking4 and I are now friends on this board - we understand each other now. Usually when someone is banned it was caused by a misunderstanding - but sometimes it's caused by "small-town ignorance".

Something my warning for my... less than desirable comments to Bucknutz shortly after I came on here taught me a very important lesson:

Just be careful what you say. Granted, some of our fellow-posters may be easily upset or offended, or just buttheads. But yeah, sometimes I wanna scream at people (so what if they can't hear it through the comp?) but THSF is a place where I just take a deep breath and try to make my points w/out being offensive.

Hope you will still enjoy posting with us.

Been busy a few days; just getting back to this.

I have thought about this, and know what to do. But I am not going to do it. If I back up my prior statements, I will have to use names from this whole forum, and that's not my style. I kept your name confidential until you posted on this thread. If I use others which would more than back up what I am saying, it would affect too many.

Consider the thread dead for now.
