Hurricane Ike Donations

As of 12:55pm cst, Ike was still having winds marked at 100mph, which makes it a Category 2 Storm.
The weather channel is still saying they think it will strengthen to at least a Cat 3 by the time it hits the coast.
With that said, I kind of like bigger, stronger storms. Yes, I know they cause more damage, and people lose homes, pets, etc. It really is a true tragedy.
But, Houston has had to put up with higher crimes rates ever since the majority of the Katrina-evacuees came there and never left. Social services went thru the roof for the free-loading coonasses that became free-loading Houstonians.
So, I think it would be great if we could make a list of donations that could possibly be sent to the Katrina-evacuees still in Houston that will be riding Hurricane Ike out in the days to come:
1. Pontoon boats with no bottoms.
2. Scuba gear minus the air.
3. Cars, trucks, and vans with tires removed.
4. Personal flotation devices made of brick.
5. Foodstamps that are wet and unreadable.
I think these types of donations would greatly help out the Katrina folks that are still living off the taxpayers' dollars in Houston.

From what I saw on all the coverage yesterday, Galveston and Surfside is where they keyed in most with coverage...and it wasn't pretty.
Houston looks to be getting smacked pretty good this morning.
As for Kemah, Bay Ridge, Clear Creek HS...Al, it doesn't look positive right now at all.
I used to live in League City for about 4 years and noticed that the Commish lists that as his location. It is getting POUNDED right now. It is right off the Galveston Bay. I hope everyone got out when the getting was good. Thoughts and prayers are with all the folks there in South Shore Harbor (inside AND outside the gates, lol), Kima, Harbor Shores, Bay Ridge, and all of my kids' old friends at Clear Creek HS.

So that old town of Freeport was spared. They had North winds ....so no tidal surge. Lucky, huh?

The Weather Channel said that these areas have been getting it all morning, and still, as they center of the storm passes over this area.
I'll be curious to know what kind of damage they are taking...even if it's a Cat 1 now at 90mph, it's still a monster.
As of now, I do believe it's moving up to Huntsville...and the folks in Nac at SFASU better brace as well...it's coming.
24 hours ago it looked like Ike was going to pass over Freeport. It didn't, it hit Galveston some 45 mikes East.

Hey Partner,A lot of places got, and are still getting, pummeled.

How's it going? I used to live right in front of one of those flood retention ponds. I had lake front property with about 3" of rain...after that, we had canals for streets. I loved living there but there's a price to pay living that close to the bay. Yeah, they got rocked.
I hope all of the evacuees don't decide to stay here in San Antonio like the N.O. people did in Houston. It is an absolute beautiful day here.
Take it easy.
