Rest assured the site and the board is going nowhere and will be up and running for a very long time. As for what I do know, Commish did indeed bring the board back up himself a few days ago and I have spoken to him personally by phone. He was not aware the board was down for that amount of time until he was paged at work by someone close to him. As for when he returns and updates the rest of the site, I can only say that something will be done in the very near future. It could be sooner rather than later and could be sooner than you or I think. Personally, he is doing very well and is well aware of what is going on. He will return.. that is a given. But when he returns is up to him. I don't know 100% why he was absent for this amount of time, but I can only speculate. The guy has been running this site virtually and technically non-stop since for over seven years straight. I suggest you get off his case and give him the benefit of a doubt.
That's all I have to say and will say.

He just said he should hand over control while he's gone. Nothing wrong with that.

That's exactly the point. People are offering to help out in any way he needs. Instead of letting the site go weeks on end without being updated (for whatever reason that might be), a little help from the dedicated members wouldn't be that much of a thing to make happen would it?
He was in no way bashing Chris.
There are plenty of people here trying to help the site. Not bring it down, like it has been going since his absence.
I'm glad you've been in contact with him though. A lot of the mods have tried to get in touch..but to no luck.

When you run anything like this...from a small business to a website such as this one, when you are gone for incredible amounts of time or can't handle it yourself even if you are around, you allow others to "take over" for the interim.
When you go out of town for a long business trip, you have someone come over and take care of the house and what not. You don't put the house in their name, but you give them the keys to get in the front door and the password to turn off the alarm.
You put a list on the kitchen table to tell them to feed and water the dog, maybe take him for a walk if they have time. Maybe you stop the mail and newspaper, but you ask them to go check to make sure.
You see what I'm saying? As others said, there is nothing wrong with what I am saying. If you're going to be gone for so long, you let someone know and you let them take care of the neccasary stuff while you are gone. You can take it all back when you comeback...
You're name is the title of this website...it is TexasHSFootball.com
Chris has been gone during almost all of the Texas High School football season. Maybe he's the "best" when he is around, it's just he's gone during the most important months of the year for his website. We're right in the heart of the state playoffs...this is what Texas football is all about. And the website made just for that hasn't been updated since week what? 2 or 3?

E-mailing, Calling, some even went as far as trying to contact his family members, but all went down the drain.

I have not emailed, but I have sent him pm's, called several times, left several voice mails, and left a message on his myspace. There have been a few of us doing what we could to maintain the site to the best of our ability or access.Have any of you tried e-mailing him?

I have mailed him years ago with no reply, haven't tried anything but a phone call since and it was a full mailbox then.
