Some might say the NL Central is a tough division the way it's playing out right now, shortly after the All-Star break.

For those that may say something to that effect, you are dead wrong. The division isn't tough, it's lacking.

Milwaukee's (as a team) bats rank 12th out of the 30 teams in MLB; Cards are 17, Houston is 21, Pitt 23, Cubs 24, and Cincin 26.

Cards, Astros, and Cubs rank in the top 10 for team pitching; with Pitt, Cincin, and Milwaukee in the bottom two-thirds of the league's teams.

And with all that said, a team like Houston is 1 game back of St. Louis?? Cubs also 1 game back?? Brewers 2 games back?? Tough league, right??

Wrong! Not when Cincin and Pitt are 5.5 and 7.5 games back this late in the season!

If you are a betting man, takes this one to the bank...whoever wins this division will NOT go past round 1 of the MLB playoffs.
