The Rangers are looking to claim the lead in the wild card race!
Very important series.
A sweep would be good, as that would put Texas 2 1/2 games up in the Wildcard. Although, we need every win we can get to catch the Angels at this point, so a sweep would help there, too.

It is in the rangers culture to blow big opportunities. How do you give up 6 runs in the bottom of the 9th in a game that big? pothetic. man I hate being a rangers fan. at least if they just stunk like normal status quo wouldn't be so disappointing. the weird thing was national analysts were praising the rangers bullpen this morning on ESPN radio and tonight guardado gives up a 2HR and the closer totally blows it.
Well, they blew it tonight! Francisco gave up the ghost!

I guess they'd better beat the Red Sox today and tomorrow, then...

Got the split...now we need the rubber match win...
Nice job by the Rangers! A series win and a .5 game lead in the Wildcard race.
Now we have our sites set on the AL West lead...might happen. 4 1/2 games is definitely doable, especially since we still have to play two more series against the Angels. I think one of them is 3 games, and one is 4 games.
Go Rangers!

the rangers have played very well against the top notch teams like boston, LAA, etc. ok vs NYY. They have the twins now that have given them some problems. They have to win almost every series from here on out if possible, but you can't argue their success since the all star break overall.Nice job by the Rangers! Wow. Texas needs to stop giving up these runs late! They fell to Minnesota 9-6. It was something like 5-1 Rangers when I went to bed last night.
Ouch.
They'd better win the next three to take the series.

they did it again tonight. 4-0 and lose 5-4. the twins have given them issues. Man that really sucks i thought the rangers had turned a corner in the boston series when they won those 2 close ones. I guess there is still plenty of bball left. some big games coming up though @ tampa and NYY.Wow. Texas needs to stop giving up these runs late! They fell to Minnesota 9-6. LAA is beating all of the inferior teams while the rangers aren't able to do such in a consistent manner it seems.

One positive, though, is that the Wildcard race is still close, and the Rangers seem to have the Angels' number this year. The Rangers & Angels still have 7 games against each other, so the Rangers still have a shot at the AL West.

very true, that and there are still like 40-50 games left or so. it's tough for the impulse fan like me to remember that. anything could happen from now to the end of the season. if texas can get on a hot streak they will be right back in the hunt for the division. One positive, though, is that the Wildcard race is still close, and the Rangers seem to have the Angels' number this year.
