Coaches love to see fans talking about third round opponents even before the playoffs begin, so, here goes:
Our old friend Wolfforth Frenship, even though having a down year (6-4), made the playoffs last night by beating San Angelo Lake View. Frenship will be the DI 4-4A rep. That means the Tigers will likely play a 3-6 Dumas team from 3-4A in the first round, and an El Paso team from 1-4A in the second round. Have to think Frenship will be favored in both those games. If the Tigers do win, and assuming DR takes care of business in the first two rounds, it will then be Round Three of the DR v. Wolfforth Frenship playoff competition. And, presumably, that meeting will be in the friendly confines of The Collins since DR went west last year.
No thank yous necessary, Coach Florence - we know you appreciate us.

Well, if the Raiders keep on playing like they did against the Wildcats.....! As for the Tigers? Well, They might not make it to that game,.... this year!

According to DCTF, Frenship plays Amarillo Palo Duro (4-6) in the first round, and, the winner of El Paso Chapin v. Canutillo in the second round.
Also according to DCTF, DR plays the winner of Fort Worth Arlington Heights v. Arlington Seguin in the second round.
Everyone in Region 1 should be thankful they are in Region I - participating in the DI Region 2 playoffs are, in no particular order, Longview, Dallas Carter, Waco Midway, Waxahachie, Highland Park, Texarkana Texas, and Sherman. Would guess a Longview v. Highland Park or Waxahachie region final.

Frenship easily won its first round playoff game and will now play El Paso Chapin in the second round. Pray for a Frenship win or DR fans will find themselves making plans for a six/seven hour trip to Midland/Odessa to see the third round game.
