From FloridaVarsity.com

Coach Joe Kinnan is trying to finalize a Sept 24 game with New Jersey Non-Public-4 State Champions Don Bosco Prep (12-0). The game would be played New Jersey. Manatee should be considered one of the front runners for a return to the 5A finals in 2010

I'd like to see it..

Won't be much of a game. Especially if they come up this way... This is all speculation anyway.. At this time nothing is set in stone.

Manatee-Bosco would be a toss up game next year IMO.

Bosco is losing a lot... But don't dismiss the fact that they have some big time players waiting in the wings... And no mater who steps in, the system and program is what breaks most opponents down. You won't find a team as disciplined as Bosco and/or more conditioned. They just grind you down, physically and mentally.

You draw a compelling picture Guru. We've got find a way to get Bosco to Texas or vice versa. The tickets would go like hotfire if it were held here in Texas.

All good teams are well conditioned and play with great discipline. But I'm guessing that Bosco is hands down the premier team in NJ because they stand out in NJ as the most physical, disciplines, conditioned team there. No surprise. Not a whole heck of a lot of competition. If jersey placed as much emphasis on football as they do basketball, or Texas places on football, then the competition would be a little better up their depth wise. If all the boarding schools, and prep schools in Jersey played football with the same rules by which they played basketball Bosco would have some company, but its not likely not going to happen.

Bosco has proved itself by taking it's show on the road. It has nothing to prove in my eyes. Similar and same class to StX and STA

Lakeland by many peoples standards is a great program.. They have no discipline nor are they well conditioned.
Same thing at Glenville Ohio..
Same thing at LBP.
Same thing at Camden County.
Same thing at Oscar Smith.

Bosco proved it by. Beating up on OOS teams, deemed "great" and "greatly conditioned and well disciplined". Not because the comp here is bad...

Let me remind you the only team to give Bosco a game this year was Bergen Catholic (nj), 28-21.

Bergen Catholic- as in the rookie of the year, pro bowler LB, Brian Cushings old HS. As I said, 28-21.

Manatee is returning some good players, and if you watched them last year, you would know that was a very good football team.

Bergen Catholic has been ranked in the top 25 several times.. They have more state titles then Bosco does.. They used to be what Bosco is now. Last state title came against DBP in 2004, where they won 14-13.. Brian Cushing was the captain of that team.. One of 6 players to go division one, and they finished nationally ranked.

Bergen Catholic was NJs powerhouse during the 90s.

Look at what Bosco did to all of their opposition... Then remember BC had this thing tied up at one point... They couldve won if not for some missed opportunities.

That should tell you what kind of team they were.. Let me add in, they had three losses.. Two to st peters prep... One to Bosco...they destroyed all OOS comp.. So much for weak competition here... Eh? BC

Absolutely but every year teams have a different identity... Traveling to Jersey in Boscos third game of the season (when all these other oos teams got first crack) isn't going to be good for them.. By then Bosco will be firing on all cylinders.

Yep, it sounds like they are the only team left in America that coaches hard and plays disciplined football. No wonder they are Jersey state champions. You have to play that way to win in such a deep, ultra-football rich state. :worship1:

In reality, they would be on par with dozens of other southern teams that play the same way.
