Talking about Permian brings back a memory of the 1980 Permian/PA Jefferson championship game played in Dallas. An elderly gentleman on the sidelines - part of the cheering squad for PA Jefferson did a "cajun" type cheer that I used to do for friends over the years when we would get to talking football. He went like this: "Hot boudan ... cold cushcush ... come on team ... push, push, push." My girl friend then said to me: "I like the way you do it better" --- "HOT BOUDAN AN COLD CUSHCUSH COME ON TEAM LET'S PUSH PUSH PUSH"!!!.Here is a clip where 89 National Champ Permian takes down Lamar for the quarter final. Between 88-91 Lamar was 50-6 and 4 of those losses were playoff losses. And three of the 4 playoff losses were to Permian and one to National champ Aldine 90. Ofcourse Aldine had lost to Permian in the 89 State championship and Permian was on probation the 1990 season go figure..

LOL, those people in SE Texas and south Louisiana are different for sure.
I can hear Cajun saying it at the Rummel game this week.

Lamar tried every thing; man, zone, zone half but our strong running game couldnt keep up with that instant td pass. We were at Texas Stadium 2 or 3 games deep. This guy next to me a Permian fan said to me after an executed long pass by FM Marcus " This play would not be happening to Permian"
"I say what!" I havent seen a team that could stop it. He said the Permian corner back would take the top of his helmet and drill the the receiver right under the chin about the time he was catching his pass. " I said if he did he would get a big penalty and maybe thrown out of the game. He said maybe! " But that receiver would not catch a pass the rest of the day!

I look at the playoff formats sometimes look confusing to me. Several years ago I devised my own format. That is funny so many memorable things have been done and said at all the games over the years! MO JO and go to state!. I think 95 Lamar had a very good team but we had the start of this new passing thing in town with a team nobody could beat. QA Brittons Flower mound Marcus team. ( This was the beginning of Tx passing teams that were good)

I use 5 color pens & each team is color coded to corespond with how they finished up in district.
For example. Euless Trinity is RED. El Paso El Dorado is BLACK. Houston Alief Hastings is GREEN.
Lubbock Monterey is PURPLE. The scores are written in BLUE. What you see is not exactly what it actually looks like. I draw a line down the middle of the page. 36 EL PASO EL DORADO 7-3 is on the left side & 30 LUBBOCK MONTEREY 2-8 is on the right side.

I got some news about the show after my brother convinced me it was canceled.

Yeah, I'm guessing it's canceled because you are starting to see a lot of the actors now appearing in other shows & movies. This was one of the poorest marketed shows that I can recall. Not to mention they kept swapping the day/time of the series when it did come on once a year!

http://www.hsfdatabase.com/nationalchampions.htmI don't see any polls naming Aldine the 1990 National Champ. I see them finishing #2 in a couple of them.

CALPREPS seems to somewhat obscene. One example is their 2007 rankings. Miami Northwestern is unranked & Katy is #10 or so.http://www.hsfdatabase.com/nationalchampions.htm

At the time 1990 I only knew of Aldine TX and Lawton Ok being ranked #1. And I knew Aldine was must stronger then Lawton or they had to be.I don't see any polls naming Aldine the 1990 National Champ. I see them finishing #2 in a couple of them.
It wasn't til recently I learned of Rustin La being #1 by some rankers also. I would imagine the La. team was pretty solid also.

It wasn't til recently I learned of Rustin La being #1 by some rankers also. I would imagine the La. team was pretty solid also.
