Odd thing about the 1991 season. NSNS,NPP & USATODAY had the final rankings like this:
nsns: #1 Ind. Ben Davis,,Ind. #2 Odessa Permian,Tx. #3 LaGrange,Ga.
NPP: #1 Ben Davis, #2 Odessa Permian & #3 LaGrange,Ga.
USATODAY: #1LaGrange4,Ga. #2 Odessa Permian & #3 Doylestown,Pa. #4 Union,Nj #5 Fort Walton Beach,fL. & #6 bEN dAVIS
iF YOU TABULATE THE POINTS LIKE THE cOLLEGE pOLLS DO;
1. oDESSA pERMIAN --- 6 POINTS
lAgRANGE,gA. --- 7 POINTS
Ind. Ben Davis, Ind. --- 8 points.

Thats an interesting point.. I don't know much about those other teams but my money would all have been on the MOJO!

Has anyone been watching this series? I still like watching it but most of the stars are gone. Does anybody know if Riggins is coming back from Prison before the show cancels..

Yeah, he comes back. I'll say that they wrap the series up in a very satisfying (IMO) way.

The show wins some very deserving Emmy's.. It would be nice if they could bring it back.

Sounds pretty good to me. I'm surprised they ended the other series.. I know a bunch of women that don't know much or care about football but loved that show..

I see that last year's interstate game between: Seffner Armwood,Fla 20, LV Bishop Gorman,Nev. 17 -- was turned into a forfeit win for Gorman.
Does anybody know why? The forfeit must have resulted after the season was over because the final rankings in the polls still show:
Seffner Armwood 15-0 & Gorman 15-1. Dallas Carter suffered a similar fate back in 1988.

I can tell you why because Armwood had 13 move ins that summer and none of them checked out legit. So Armwood was stripped of the Championship and had to forfeit all games that year.. The same happened to Central.. Maybe Florida is about to put a stop to all that nonsense that goes on out there..

--------------------------------------------What's wrong with this board? Nobody's posting anything. Has everyone fallen asleep? Last night on Texas HS scoreboard they seemed ready to acclaim Lake Travis #1. Well, 10 years ago SLC went 16-0 in their first year in 5A; however I'm not ready to acknowledge Lake Travis #1 yet. It's a long season. There's several teams out there -- such as Katy, Skyline, maybe Allen, and a few others. Coppell blasted Longview 41-8. They might be a team to keep an eye on. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ On another note does anyone on this board have any "pet peeves?" Here are a few of mine: The way the English language has deteriorated over the years. Poor grammar. For example: 1. Around 1989; mostly in sports circles the letter "A" started appearing before the name of ball players -- as well as 's at the end of their names. A Mickey Mantle -- A Terry Bradshaw, etc. Also: The Joe Montana's of this world, The Joe Dimaggio's of this world. The Hank Aaron's of this world. I'd like to know who these "Clones" are. 2. Around 1995; the word "so" caught on like wildfire as the second word of a sentence. Sounds goofy to me. 3. Another is "guys". Years ago there was a bar in Lake Charles -- "Guys and Dolls". Today everyone is "guys". People call their children -- both boys and girls "guys". "Come on guys; let's go." Heck; even some of the children don't call their parents Mom and Dad anymore. "Hey; are you guys ok?" (Sick commercial I saw on TV). You have to really miss the "old days" when parents referred to them as their children or kids. Oh; and "Siblings" -- I hate that word. 4. Another is "Surreal." What's wrong with: fantastic, unbelievable, amazing? 5. And how about "could care less." Doesn't this mean that you actually care more? -- Years ago it was "I couldn't care less."; as it should be. 6. On a major radio station recently; the Talk Show Host; talking politics made reference to: "all the states like Louisiana, all the states like Ohio, all the states like Mississippi, etc." I doubt if there are any states out there like Louisiana, Ohio, Mississippi etc. I'm sure each one is unique in their own way. Maybe I'm wrong -- Alaska, California, North Dakota and some other states might be like Louisiana, Ohio and Mississippi. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On another note. A fan fell from the stands Friday night at the Georgia Dome and died a few hours later. Another fan suffered the same fate at Reliant Stadium last year reaching for a ball thrown into the stands by a ball player. The railings have since been raised. Everywhere you go you see railings no higher than 3 feet. Condominiums, Hotels, apartments are examples. Several years ago the teen age friend of a co-worker's son was clowning around with her friends inside a 2nd floor apartment; running back and forth inside and out; lost her balance when someone bumped her; and fell head first onto the concrete below. She died the next day.
