FOR CENTRAL TEXAS FOOTBALL PLAYERS
San Marcos Academy announced today it will be holding its first ever SMA Bear Club All-Pro Football Camp presented by Austin Extreme Graphics and Central Texas Collision of Buda from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 19.
Former Houston Oilers and arena football coach Ed Biles will headline the free camp along with former Texas Copperheads Head Coach Bryan Blake of the Arena Football League 2 and SMA Head Football Coach Les Davis, formerly of Canyon High School in New Braunfels.
Many other area players and football stars, as well as coaches, are schedules to appear at the one-day camp.
“One of my goals when I started here was to give all kids the opportunity to attend a free football summer camp and increase their skill levels prior to the upcoming season,” Ronald Oswalt, SMA Athletic Development Director, said.
Many talented high school football players are overlooked by college/university coaches and recruiters because they have not been marketed in camps where their talents can be noticed. The Bear Club at San Marcos Academy hopes to provide the opportunity for local athletes to get the exposure they deserve during the 2010 SMA Bear Club Camp at Ingram-A+ FCU Stadium. Incoming 8th - 12th grade athletes can improve their skills and be seen by coaches and recruiters at no charge.
Debbie Ohlman, Austin Extreme Graphics CEO, said, “Any time our family of companies can help our area youth and give them a outstanding experience with professional coaching, we are behind it.”
Registration is open now for this football camp opportunity. Reserve a spot now for your 9th - 12th grade athlete as enrollment for the free camp will be limited.
