what are the numbering guidelines for UIL? Can there be duplicate numbers like in NCAA? And why do players prefer the lowest number possible? is 0 a legitimate number? is 99 the highest you can go?

Players cannot wear a 0 and 99 is the highest number. Duplicate numbers are ok but they cannot be in the game at the same time. I suspect some like the single digit numbers as they seem to be more unique (there are only 9 possible ones).

50-79 are the ineligible numbers in NCAA and Texas HS football. 99 can play QB and is eligible. However, if #79 plays QB he is inbligible to receive a forward pass
