"The NBA D-League All-Star Game and NBA D-League Dream Factory festivities, which will be part of NBA Jam Session presented by adidas at NBA All-Star 2011 in Los Angeles, highlight the schedule in February. The league’s top prospects take to the court for the fifth annual NBA D-League All-Star Game on Saturday, Feb. 19 on Center Court at Jam Session presented by adidas. The league’s top stars will also compete in Dream Factory, the NBA D-League’s skills competition featuring high-flying dunkers and sharp shooters displaying their talents.
The sixth Annual NBA D-League Showcase tips off in South Padre Island, Texas in January, as all 16 teams play two games each at the South Padre Island Convention Centre. Top NBA prospects display their talents in front of an expected gathering of scouts from all 30 NBA teams, while putting on a show for their fans. The Showcase has historically been a springboard for GATORADE Call-Ups to the NBA, with players such as two-time NBA Champion Shannon Brown, along with Sundiata Gaines, Cartier Martin and Chuck Hayes all getting the call following their performance in the winter classic.
For the second consecutive year, the NBA D-League will feature two conferences, East and West, with the Texas Legends replacing the Los Angeles D-Fenders in the Western Conference. The Eastern Conference will consist of the Dakota Wizards, Erie BayHawks, Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Iowa Energy, Maine Red Claws, Sioux Falls Skyforce and Springfield Armor, while the Western Conference includes the Austin Toros, Bakersfield Jam, Idaho Stampede, New Mexico Thunderbirds, Reno Bighorns, Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Texas Legends, Tulsa 66ers and Utah Flash."
