My picks:

Farmersville 21 Rains 7-The Farmers are not very good this year, but my gut is telling me that they should at least get a win against Rains.....That is a big if???? I am going to root for the hometeam here and predict a close win for the Farmers. Keeping my fingers crossed! C'mon guys....You can do it! Believe in yourselves and each other!

Lone Star 14 Van Alstyne 28-Lone Star drops yet another one, but this time it will not be a blowout I don't think. In fact, an injury to a key person, penalties, turnover, etc on VA's part and I think Lone Star could get their first win of the season, but I think VA will take care of business and get a win.

Prosper 28 Bridgeport 17-Two pretty good teams matched together this week. Prosper is coming off a tough loss and I don't think they lose two in a row. So, Prosper wins in a pretty close ballgame.

Princeton 28 Quinlan 14-I say the Panthers will win without a doubt.....Question is, which one??? I am gonna go with Princeton to beat Quinlan. I think Princeton is due and is building up some momentum heading into district play. We shall see.....

I see Community getting beat 56-6. They scrapped the JV this week so they will likely score at least once. I've got cousins who go/went to Rains, so I am debating on going to that game out there or the game in Canton.

You were way off...try 70-7.
I don't know what to say. When is enough, enough? Players are dropping like flies. More and more players are showing up on the sidelines wearing jeans, with a sling, or on crutches. And what's worse, it's the seniors who are hetting injured. This is giving me an erie flashback to the 90's when we had to call off the rest of the season.

Congrats to Farmersville and Lonestar on getting their 1st wins of the season! Way to go! Prosper, Community and Princeton all suffered tough losses Friday night. Lovejoy had the night off. Congrats to the kids from Farmersville. Keep it up and work on getting better every week. An even bigger congrats to Lonestar for taking it to VA and getting their 1st win in their first varsity season.

Watched Princeton play Quinlan Ford last night and was not very impressed. Princeton is not the team I was thinking they might be. I have no idea how they beat Commerce so badly????? Quinlan Ford was not very good and they ran the ball at will against Princeton! The Farmers can definately beat Princeton come district play and hopefully secure a playoff spot! The Farmers get VA next week for homecoming I believe. Let's hope they secure their 2nd win of the season and head into district play with a little momentum built!

Are you sure about that Lone Star score? DMN has them on the losing end of a 63-7 blowout. Now speaking of blowouts, I am very curious about the injury report from Community. I'm not sure how we are going to suit up enough players to take to Bonham this Friday.
What's even more depressing is seeing the highlights from Mesquite Horn watching Collin Strahan doing his thing there.

I am no football expert, but it seems to me that our QB, Colton Hutchison is too good of an athlete to be a QB. He has the speed of a RB or a WR. I'm wondering who the back-up is and if they can tweak the offense a tad to more utilize Hutchison's abilities. He is a decent quarterback, but in this district, decent won't cut it.

Lonestar got manhandled by VA!

The Farmers will have their hands full with Princeton. The QB for Princeton is shifty and will likely give the Farmers some trouble if they tackle like they have been on defense. He is nowhere near as fast as the Commerce Qb was but still he is good at finding the open lanes and taking advantage of what the defense gives up! The Farmers better have someone shadow him at all times. The one area that think works in the Farmers favor is that he isn't near as strong as the Commerce QB was. The princeton QB will go down fairly easily and I also think the Princeton players will quit pretty easily. but I think it will be a tough battle for the Farmers to win. Certainly they are capable of it and by that time perhaps they will have some kind of identity! From what I understand they have changed the whole flow of the offense by moving the JV QB up and putting the varsity QB at other skill positions. We will see on Friday night in VA. Good luck to everyone.

The kid that moved up from the JV is doing a great job but the reason he was moved up was due to injuries to the other QB's. I have heard that he may stay at QB through the VA game to give the other a chance to heal. It's a catch 22 the starting QB is a Senior do you put him back in or look to develop the Sophmore QB and move the SR to another skill position that may help the team.

I would hate to have to make that decision Truefan! I have always liked the senior QB and think he had ton's of potential! But I have also always said Farmersville hasn't done enough to develope QB's in the past. Sometimes you can't be a power running team if you don't have the talent for it. A coach must adapt to the skill of the players he has. I really can't remember a time in over a decade that the Farmers had a true passing QB and receivers that could challenge. I say let's develope the sophomore kid for the next couple of years and use the seniors talents elsewhere. I don't think either one will make this team better than Lovejoy or Prosper and they certainly should be able to take the 3rd spot in this district with either kid at QB! Good luck to everyone on Friday night! It looks like I will miss the game because of my son's 21st birthday party! I am thinking the Farmers could "Break Out" on Friday against the Panthers!
