The game of the week is no doubt Lovejoy vs. Abilene Wylie. Or is it Prosper vs. Argyle? For everyone but Lovejoy, this is the final week of non-district.
Farmersville will have a tough one in Van Alstyne after the Farmers got their first win. Princeton will also have a tough battle up in Sanger.
Community plays Bonham there with who, I don't know. They are playing JV Thursday night, so that will wipe out a bunch of the roster.

Lone Star plays a 2A team that has been struggling over the past couple of years. This could easily be Lone Star's first win. They Bells for the Panthers' homecoming.

I think I will make the trip the trip to VA to watch the Farmers this week. Maybe they have finally figured out a few things and can at least make it competitive. I leave for a week in the Carribean on Sunday so the bye week is perfect timing! Hope everyone has a great week.

Sorry about the mispost reference Lone Star winning last week. I guess I read the score backwards or something. I do think they will get a win this week though...Here are my picks....

Lovejoy 17 Abilene Wylie 38
Prosper 14 Argyle 28
Farmersville 38 Van Alstyne 14
Princeton 7 Sanger 42
Community 7 Bonham 28
Lonestar 21 Bells 7

Congrats to Lovejoy for the big win! After seeing Prosper lose to Argyle like they did, perhaps Lovejoy and Argyle both are the real deal??? Is the power in the district leaning toward the Leopards now??? Is there a state title run in Lovejoy's future??? I am not sure, but they seem to be getting better each week! Meanwhile the bottom half of the district is terrible....Farmersville, Princeton, Community and Lonestar all lost in addition to Prosper. Take Lovejoy out of this equation and our district is turning out to be average to below average....I still think the Farmers could make the playoffs potentially with a 4-6 record, but they are going to have to be able to beat Princeton, which I think they can do, but it is not an automatic win. I think they should win relatively easily against Community and Lonestar. They key is Princeton, which is not a very good team, but neither are the Farmers. So, we shall see. I just hope the Farmers focus on getting better each week win or lose and further develop the kids for next season.

I didn't go to the Bonham game. I do know that Bonham changed their team colors over to purple and black. We'll take a week off and see if we can put on a show in Farmersville.
