Sorry, been away from a computer all weekend. I actually see three prospects for next year. If Dannon Cavil wants to try out for QB, I certainly think that they will allow that. He would bring a dimension of skills that would be very difficult for defenses to defend ( assuming he can throw accurately ). Baker Mayfield, the JV QB, gets better ever week that I see him. He was outstanding against Vista Ridge and looks more like a Varsity QB every time that I see him. He can move around pretty well too. Bear Fennimore is the Freshman QB. He is a big kid with betterLTCAV83, who do you see as the 4 legitimate QB prospects for next year?
speed than I thought he had. He can throw the ball a mile and has great zip on it. He needs to work on his accuracy and his touch passes, but it is clear that he has a lot of ability and size. The 4th candidate is Colin Lagasse who filled in so great this year when Brewer was hurt. I don't think that he will play QB because there are so many capable candidates and he is too valuable playing other positions. I will admit to being intrigued by playing Baker Mayfield at QB with Cavil and Griffin Gilbert back at receiver. These are two huge targets and there are several other really good receivers coming in the pipeline. It will be a very interesting spring at LT.

I had heard Bear switched positions, but I am glad to hear he is playing QB. My son was on a 7v7 team with him a few years ago that won the state championship. He can really heave it.
I also can't wait to see Dannon. He can obviously run, and has a D1 body/ If he can throw, we could add a zone read and really open things up.
Future looks great!

Interesting. I agree about Colin, that guy could play any position on the field I think! Baker throws a beautiful ball, and runs well, plus you have to love that his dad was a college QB - good pedigree! It was fun to see him dressed out when Michael was hurt.

Another LT update. The locomotive is picking up steam as the goes on and the team gets healthy. In the district games, LT has outscored their opponents by 204-21 and the first team defense has not given up a point. LT gave up only two first downs in pitching a shutout against a good, 7-2 Vista Ridge team that lost to Cedar Park 36-35. Michael Brewer is back as well as the starting center. All state receiver Conner Floyd is expected back for the Cedar Park game. Everything seems to be coming together for LT as they prepare for some tough games that are ahead. They will play Cedar Park for the district championship on November 4th. Potential showdowns with Smithson Valley and a rematch with Kerrville Tivy or Cedar Park loom ahead.

I hope that both Tivy and LT get that far! Tivy will also be at full strength for that one with Deron Belford back at WR and Jacob Camarillo back at RB. He (Camarillo) is a transfer and was not eligible for the first four games of the year. He is a serious breakaway threat and will make a huge dif if we are fortunate enough to meet again.
Should be fun and good luck against Cedar Park. I am sure a lot of Tivy players and coaches will be at that game. If they can get tickets.

Just a note. The Tivy players are looking forward to a rematch. If you thought the first game was tough, well you ain't seen nothin yet.

Best of luck to the Antlers and I would love to see a rematch with Johnny Rocket and the rest of the crew. LT is getting healthy and looking like a good bet to 4 peat.

Apparently Cedar Park didn't get the memo they had no chance against the mighty Cavaliers.
Better not order those rings just yet.
Not to worry we will be just fine ...I don't see Denison getting a memo that you are 1-8 and are at the bottom of all of 4a........maybe you can't read....................
to many turnovers and when we do order our rings I will be thinking of you...size 11 1/2

LT may very well win state, I would still consider them the favorite. I was merely pointing out that regardless of how good you LT chest thumpers think you are, there are a few teams that will still show up and try to win, despite what you experts think.

Was this thread about Denison? I must have missed that. But if that makes you feel better then suit yourself. BTW, proud Denison graduate from waaaay back, and one bad season won't make me jump ship or make excuses like some on here.

Jam,
Maybe your post was meant for me. No excuses from me because the better team won last night. Cedar Park came in and took care of business and deserved to win that game. They were physical and tough from the first play of the game.
I guess I am one of the chest thumpers that you are describing, but I did not ever think that it would be easy against CP. Just as it won't be easy against Tivy and Johnny Rocket. I am still proud of the LT boys for fighting back, but I have come to expect that from them. They won't quit on any game. CP was too good last night, though. They made all of the plays that they need to make.
I hope that LT gets a chance to meet CP again in the quarter finals but there is a lot of football to be played before then. If your post was meant to serve up a ration of stuff for me then so be it. LT lost and no excuses here.
