What's the rule on Drop Kicks? How much do they count for? Have you seen one in a game recently?

What's the rule on Drop Kicks? How much do they count for? Have you seen one in a game recently?

If done on an extra point, counts for 1. If on a FG attempt, counts for 3. I have never seen one executed.

Only time I ever "SEEN" this happen was old George Blanda in the PROS!! :coolthumb:

Actually, there was a game a couple of years ago where Doug Flutie did it with the Patriots.



And I think it was for an extra point.

I don't see any real reason to do so, but I wonder if any high school kids in Texas could do this. Just because it's sort of "old school", and might be kind of cool to see during a game.

Especially in a situation that is like a 4th down, inside the 5, as a bit of "trickeration".

To be legal, the ball has to be kicked at the precise moment it hits the ground. Any earlier and it is a punt. Any later and it is illegally kicking the ball. Someone would have to devote considerable time working on this to get it right
