Don't make it harder than what was being implied; a stat is simply a numerical measurement that is used to draw a conclusion. In this case the measurement of the number of national titles to draw a conclusion that one state is superior to another...nothing more nothing less. The number of sources used is irrelevant. My point is it doesn't mean Fla's top 25 can beat Texas top 25.

it is not a state because it is garbage in garbage out

had you taken one ranking organization like usa today it would be a valid stat

nothing against tx or fl, it's just bad info, i am from neither with no ties to either

1978 Houston Stratford,(Tx) Annandale, (VA)
1990 Ruston (LA) Houston Aldine (TX)
In addition:
2007 Katy (TX) was up there with the best
2009 Abilene (TX) " "
2110 Pearland (TX) Euless Trinity (TX)

peralman and Trinity were both National champions in 2010?

LOL, i'D SAY YOU WERE AN idiot if i trolled

I say they were both better then the team that was picked #1.. I think most think that is believable. I think undefeated Katy and Trinity were a little better then STA last year and 16-0 Pearland beat them both. I say no other anywhere team anywhere would have made it thru Katy and Trinity last year.

stuff like that happens all the time in sport

a decent team beats a team or two that are better than them

all this has nothing to do with the bogus inclusion of them as a national champion

I agree with that but be careful to throw out there that a couple of northern teams are better then Trinity that has never lost OOS game.

None but they have soundly beaten real state champions from three states that finished with only one loss but undefeated in their states. I would love for your team to be next. I mean can you really expect a team to be up every year. Trinity has done pretty good.

Trinity has done very very well. I have nothing but admiration for the program.

My comment was to a ridiculous post that called them. Katy and pearlman national title holders from last year.

none of the three won a national title last YEAR NEVER MIND ALL THREE IN ONE YEAR!!!

That's a laughably lopsided number. I bet you haven't even seen half of the teams from Florida's top 25 and you just assume that they're undisciplined. I wonder how many more games Florida is going to have to win against Texas before people end this ridiculous stereotype.

As long as yall send STA to play Skyline, and other top 10 teams to play Denison and Madison, yall will win much more.

people are misinterpreting DEPTH with just having 1000's of teams. our top 25 or 50 can hang with yours point blank. Desoto was ranked top 15 in your state, and they beat a team here that didnt crack our top 50 by 1 point in desotos house 1200 miles away.

And you forget that Cocoa beat an over-hyped Abilene team that was without their best player. Cocoa was a borderline top 10 team in Florida and Abilene was lucky to be a top 30 team in Texas.

Didn't Abilene score more on Cocoa than anyone else, without their best player?

You mean as long as the Texas Herbstreit people are setting up those matchups? Because you guys are making the matchups and hosting the games. We're just winning them.

I was at the game and Abilene even with out there players had Cocoa under wraps and for some reason started playing conservative and let cocoa's running back break away for 2 tds in a row in the fourth but Abilene even with out their players looked be quite a bit stronger then a pretty good Cocoa ball club. The score looked close in the end but it was mostly dominated by the Abilene D.
We could argue all day I know a Young Abilene missing players is better then Cocoa I was there. The crowd was feeling sorry for Cocoa most of the entire game and they were against Miramar also. Even though the scores ended up close on both games.
Anyway Cocoa wins state there and Abilene doesn't win crap here that year but they did beat your defending champ Plant pretty good and that is proof that Abilene is better than Cocoa because Plant is a little bit of a favorite over Cocoa, I know I saw them both against the same team.

That's some moral victory BS you've got going for you.

It was 24-13 with 1 minute left in the game - sure, Abilene would have had this if not for that plague of locusts, then the freak snow storm that hit mid 4th quarter, followed by the sinkhole that formed at midfield and slowed down Abilene's momentum.

Cocoa won state in a class smaller than what Abilene is - and they were played tougher by EVERY team in that playoff run than what Abilene did...in big bad Texas 5A, where there's SO much depth.

- If the DEPTH in Texas is so great, then a 9 win Skyline in big, tough 5A should be able to beat Glades Central, which is the size of a Texas 4A. NOPE - but a crappy 6-5, FL 5A beat Glades Central.

If DEPTH were so great in Texas, then Abilene should have beaten Cocoa, a school the size of a Texas 4A.

In 2009, Aledo won a 4A title by 14 points, yet lost to a 5-5 5A Weatherford. Cocoa is the size of Aledo and won their title, yet beat a 5A team that won nearly double the games of that 5A that beat a 4A Texas title team from just 2009. The MYTH of Texas "depth" strikes again.

- Desoto, 4 rounds deep in 5A DI beats Miramar by 1 point, in OT. Miramar lost in the 2nd round of 6A, and also lost to a 3A 1st round loser. Looks like a "depth" team from Florida ran pretty well with a team that went very deep in 5A DI. DEPTH.

This Texas vs Florida pissing contest has definitely run it's course. The same arguments are surfacing again and again. Both states are heavy weights and have unprecedented feats in these series; Florida's in the defensive department and Texas on the offensive output. There are numerous examples to cite. Suffice to say that any given year one state may be better than the other but overall they are close.

Texas and Fla match each other in depth and overall quality as both states make up about 20-25% of a national polls top 100 teams. Here is one truth I have learned. One scrub from one of these states will not beat a top team from the other. Typically, who is favored to win will and vice versa. This tells me the states are comparable. Cocoa was a top 10 Fla team and beat Abilene, which is what I would expect from a top 10 team from Tx. STA beat down a good team in Skyline, which is exactly what happened when they played a top team in Texas.

Did I miss anything or this fairly accurate??

In New Jersey's case I think there is a good team that is just a solid as the top teams in Texas. I am confident that Bsoco would compete and be a strong, reputable program like Trinity and Katy, not necessarily better. I don't hold as much respect for the other NJ programs b/c they have not beaten Bosco in like 5-6 years!! Until they make things more competitive in state they don't deserve that level of national prominence. That might change if BC soundly beats Cocoa. I've stated before, the other teams in NJ need to earn their reputation on their own or beat Bosco every now and then.
