Both teams were 13-1 last year. University was Class 2B runner-up. Goose Creek lost in the Class 4A-II semifinals to eventual champion Northwestern. University started their football programs 5 years ago. Their head coach is STA alum Roger Harriott.
University will also host Red Lion Christian (DE) in their regular season finale.

What makes Florida better than Texas imo, other than reasons i've mentioned in the past is we have just as many elite teams, and just as many Division 1 athletes as you, yet we have about 700, i repeat 700 LESS high schools as you. we have this EVEN with less resources,(Money, Facilities, etc.). We are born, your built and molded. if 2 kids took the same test, but 1 had a teacher, and the other learned by himself, and they scored the same, it would be a heck of alot more impressive for the 1 without the teacher. THATS FLORIDA!!!
We get it, so stop taking over evey thread with who's better than who.
Fact is, some states are bette than others in one year, then it changes the next year.

And the Texans sound like absolute fools when they post like that.
Look at the thread title, it's about a small, South Florida school, playing a South Carolina school - you started bashing Texas. And you wonder why the Texans would post that way?
It's a message board, Being cool doesn't mean that much to me, we either agree on something or we don't - steering the thread away from the title within 1 post does nothing but bring bickering that will end up in some lame "debate."

I would put Florida's top 25 against Texas top 25, and after that, name some teams in TX that are outside your 25, and i betcha Florida's teams would be able to compete no problem
imho, tx top 25 vs fl top 25, texas goes 16-9
why?
fl's top dozen teams struggle as always with a lack of disciple and team play and fl's next 12 just don't measure up well as fl does not have texas' depth

That's a laughably lopsided number. I bet you haven't even seen half of the teams from Florida's top 25 and you just assume that they're undisciplined. I wonder how many more games Florida is going to have to win against Texas before people end this ridiculous stereotype.

Thanks for the respect you just gave us.Big surprise a Florida team actually willing to play powers from other places, why some state hide in their house and claim there the the best in their backyard. Other than Florida, only Ohio in recent memory with the old Herbstreit challenges can say they took on all comers from around the nation. Texas gets no respect, and no one will see them other than a state with 10,000 teams. and when you have so many teams, your bound to have some great ones. but so does everybody else.

This stat doesn't address overall depth.
lol, it isn't a stat and it does not address anything
it's also very misleading as it uses several ranking services to come up with multiple national champions
it's just a bogus post
I have said this for over two years here now, Texas has the best high school football teams, FL has the most individual talent

wha t is the criteria for the best teams?? what are the services who do the rankings? Rivalshigh, Calpreps, ESPN RISE, USA Today, Max Preps, and Prepnation. add any one else. my point is EVERY single ranking has just as many Florida teams as Texas. so 6 experts cant ALL be wrong just cuz some people here say so. they probably know alittle bit more than most of us. so we have just as many TOP teams as well.lol, it isn't a stat and it does not address anything

Florida sent almost all state champion caliber to Texas and didn't fair to well last year against just good teams and some bad teams from Texas. Your best team would have been beaten at Cowboys stadium that day if they would have played Trinity. I think you know this. Imagine if our best played your best I feel pretty comfortable about the outcome.I would put Florida's top 25 against Texas top 25, and after that, name some teams in TX that are outside your 25, and i betcha Florida's teams would be able to compete no problem

Don't make it harder than what was being implied; a stat is simply a numerical measurement that is used to draw a conclusion. In this case the measurement of the number of national titles to draw a conclusion that one state is superior to another...nothing more nothing less. The number of sources used is irrelevant. My point is it doesn't mean Fla's top 25 can beat Texas top 25.lol, it isn't a stat and it does not address anything
