I know offensively, that there must be 7 players on the LOS, and 5 of them must wear between #50 and #79.
But are there rules for defensive formations? I mean, could someone just line up with 1 nose tackle, 6 "stand up" linebackers, and 4 DBs? Or maybe the opposite? 6 defensive linemen, 1 linebacker, and 4 dbs.
What types of restrictive rules are there defensively?

As long as they are all on their own side of the line of scrimmage, they can be wherever they want.I know offensively, that there must be 7 players on the LOS, and 5 of them must wear between #50 and #79.
