I recently purchased a GREAT football book. It's more of a "football history" book, but it's still great.

It's this one.

It's basically an "evolution" of football. I just finished the chapter on the Wishbone. This book starts off VERY old school (talking about the Pop Warner Single Wing) and gets more modern. It also discusses various offensive and defensive schemes.

I'd really recommend it for anyone who's a football buff...

Ok...I've made it to the defensive part of the book.

As far as the offense part, it's sort of interesting that offensive schemes/formations have kind of come "full circle". Look at the Single Wing, then look at a more modern shotgun "Spread". There are a LOT of similarities. and although the schemes have changed (blocking is different, philosophy is different) from the Single Wing to the Spread, you'll notice similarities.
